Hey

I was complaining last month because i lost my passport as soon as I arrived (doh - i still kick myself)..... well i never found it but I now have my replacement in hand (due to great help from LA embassy) and I defo struck it lucky as I managed to get a replacement I-94 from the San Francisco USCIS office (for free!!!). After researching and info from Rebeccajo I thought i was gonna have to wait like 90 days and pay $185 for one but I called and I was lucky enough to get a really lovely immigration officer who told me if i could get to San Francisco he'd give me one on the spot for free!!! After many other immigration officers complaining (I didn't think i was gonna get it) I finally got to see the guy and he did it all for me!!!! I'm so happy!

Just wanted to fill you all in....now I can get my SSN, Drivers license etc........

Oh that is good news! I am glad you were able to get such a worrisome situation resolved so nicely - and that you met someone in immigration who understood your dilemna and was willing to help. Now you can relax and enjoy your new life! Good luck.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
