Hi all,

Well, this question is pretty pointless being that Vipul is already on his way to New Delhi, India for a visit this very moment :( , but I'm sitting here worrying about the AP. Our AP was approved on June 6th and we recieved it in the mail shortly afterwards. The EAD was approved too, but the AOS is still pending. He has his passport and the two AP documents with him. We've not had any complications or problems with our AOS process yet. There's no cause for inadmission that I know of, but for some reason I'm just worried. Vipul's not worried at all. Is it risky to travel using the AP?

No I don't think it's risky at all Jamie, he has Gov't permission to leave and return...so chill girl.

The only time there is a prob is probably when some smart Alec makes a witty or stoopid comment when returning and I know he wouldn't do that

Jamie,

I dont think you should worry bout it. My hubby did the same thing, travelled on AP before his AOS appointment, and we even filed from a tourist visa. When I called immigration to ask bout it (cuz I was worried too), they told me "That is what its for, dont worry about it!" I also worried myself to death bout it, and it wasnt a prob at all, we were mainly worried bout the folks back in Guyana, cuz its an unusual document to see there, and he did have to go thru several different folks back home at the airport til one knew what the document was. :) Good luck.

Sometimes, Indian officials may give problems. But at the end of day, they are looking for a small bribe. Since he is from India, he should have no problem dealing with them.

Sujeet also said, if anything, it could be annoying on the Indian side of things. Like, if they(in India) don't know what AP means(which they should by simply reading the paper), they might question him while he leaves India. But since he's Indian I'm sure he'll know how to handle that! On the US side of things I don't see why he'd have a problem. You can see many VJ members successfully used their AP(like in the adjustment of status section, and this section, etc). :)

I just used it, and it was the other way around...

I was a nervous wreck and Rob was totally calm....

He just happened to be right, there was absolutely no sweat about the AP.

However, in Italy the airline employees, kept asking me for a visa, and they didnt seem to understand what the heck I was showing them, until a supervisor came and saw the paper. He then asked me: You live in the US madam? I said yes, and he proceeded to explain to the other guy in italian, they let me go, but it was a tad uncomfy....
