The right wingers (hi Danno) will find fault no matter what Obama does, so this is hardly newsworthy. If Obama doesn't give in to the liberals (like he is doing here) he's accused of flip-flopping. If he agrees with the liberals the neocons start screaming for his impeachment. If you tards were 1/100th as critical of Bush I'd actually care (a little) what you think, but your blatant bias is laughable.

On a different but somewhat related note I denounce the witch hunt that has ensued over the Miss America (Miss USA?) contestant who was blasted for saying that a marriage should be between a man & a woman. She has the freedom like anyone else to express her opinion & to go after her for saying what she said is also laughable.

There are many people in the US who are not ready, probably the majority. That doesn't mean its the right course to deny the equality that legalizing gay marriage.

If it's a right, when was it first recognized and in which country?

Why has this suddenly become an issue? What changed so dramatically? I can't think of a single major incident.

I was aware the whole time, and I can't figure out how gay marriage got to be such an imperative either. If Californians are still resisting it, it's got a long way to go before most people and most states allow it.

That vote on Prop 8 really surprised me. I thought at least it would have been voted down in Los Angeles county. Only 2 counties in the entire state voted it down. I think it's a matter of human rights and everyone should be entitled to it. However, I do agree that as a country, the U.S. has a lot further to go towards acceptance before DOMA is struck down.

Why is it required that a society accept gay marriage? Rights don't just belong to gays, re this issue. A society also as a right to set the boundaries for its rituals and norms. Gay marriage advocates need to get over trying to have gays be the same as hetrosexuals. They're not, so they're unions need to reflect their uniqueness, not the characteristics of opposite sex unions.

Prop 8 passed because the people behind it spent more money on advertising. There was a lot of guff about schools "teaching" gayness and how churches would be forced to marry gays on their premises.

He's not thinking clearly if he is backing away from homosexuals. More green tea required Mr Obama!

What did you expect, him to back right into them instead? I don't think he plays for that team. Michelle would whup his scrawny azz if he did.

I bet Michelle could whup some azz!

I'm bettin she's not one of these ####-kiss mothers when it comes to her kids.

Whimpy moms are a real turn-off for me.

Does Michelle Obama make you horny?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Excuses, excuse! Gay advocates were surpised that it went down because they think they can pull the wool over everyone's eyes. Advertising can't overcome solid values.
