My Finacee and I received our NOA 1 on the 13th January and I've noticed that we and few other people have been skipped. Should I start to worry and starting enquiring why this is happening or should I just try and stay patient as possible. I'm starting to think that it will never come. My finacee has moved around quite a lot so do you guys think that the background checks may take longer because of that? We haven't even heard of any updates from them full stop since the NOA 1. Were an honest couple who just want to be together as soon as possible and this is making things even harder then things are normally with the distance involved. It doesn't seem logial to why others several weeks after we submitted ours are hearing something and we haven't got a single thing yet.

Please say there are others in a similar boat to ours

01/08/2009 - POSTED NOA1 to VSC

01/13/2009 - RECEIVED NOA1, Case Pending

02/06/2009 - TOUCHED - Finacee moved so I presume that was the reason for it

05/20/2009 - Contacted Congressman's Alan Grayson's Offices to ask for assistance on our case, He agrees

06/13/2009 - 5 months and nothing, not even from our congressman :( Were is our NOA2!!!!!!

06/16/2009 - Our congressman actually made contact us for the first time in 4 weeks only to tell us they had written our address down wrong so here we are, still stuck in limbo with not a clue what's happenening

06/17/2009 - Called NVC on a off chance they might have it and they do!!!!! Woop woop. All we need now is that hard copy and were set!

06/17/2009 - NVC send our visa and petition to the london embassy - My packet 3 is on the way, woop woop!

06/19/2009 - Recieved NOA2 in the post, dated 06/11/2009. The panicing is over.....for now

07/01/2009 - Reeceived Packet 3 in the post, woop woop

As you can see on Igor's list, there is a gap around January 14, and another one around January 22. My guess is that people who file around the same date end up in one box, and that these two boxes each are on an adjudicator's desk who is a bit behind in his or her work, maybe working on other stuff, who knows. I won't get worried until the other January 14 filers get approved and we aren't. As long as most others with the same NOA1 date aren't approved, I will assume we just have to wait for our box to be processed... Just a theory, though.

Tell me about it!!! Unfortunately some of us get processed slower than others. There's no logical processing of petitions & it personally drove me crazy!

Don't worry, I know it's difficult to stay patient, but it's only been 4 months. You'll get your NA02 soon.

Good Luck!

We have the same theory for some late December filers... that we're all in the same, abandoned, box.

I called my Congressional aide on 5/13. He called VSC and called me back within 3 minutes. He informed me that my application had just been approved that day (5/13). So far, I have not received any confirmation of this. No email, no change on website, no snail mail. I am going to wait until 5/20 and call him again just to follow up. I surely hope he was right. I think we were all in the same box.

My NOA1 date was Jan 23 and on Igor's list there was only 1 other person with same date. Last week they received their NOA2, so of course I thought maybe they were working on 'our box' but still I have nothing yet. My hopes went up and now they are going down again, this is really frustrating. I talked to the person who was approved with same NOA1 date and she said they did not get any email or update on USCIS website, the letter just showed up this week with a date from the week before. I also noticed a NOA1 date of May 1 getting NOA2 already. How does that happen?! I am still trying to be patient and just keeping checking my mailbox everyday but I wish there was some way to really know what's going on there.

I just called my Congressman's office and they are going to look into what's going on with my case with VSC and call me back. Hopefully they will be able to shed some light and I also asked for them to please mention that the USCIS website is not being updated or sending any email notifications lately. I will update with anything I find out.

The May 1 person was a military expedite.
