That's wonderful...Hope they will hire you soon. We had our appt on 8th July. They canceled that and moved everything to 22nd. So, we went there to find out if they will allow us and inspite of no one being there...the guard told us that he can't allow us as it will make us jump ahead of others in the q'. I can't believe it. Take care.

That is strange that it was canceled. Our biometrics appointment is on July 17.

Moksha - looks like your EAD/Adv Parole got approved in 42/43 days. That is really fast. Hopefully, I will hear something by end of July/early August.

Hey guys - did you guys get a driving license/state id yet ? Name change on SSN card ? I understand for license they will check your I-94 and if expired then you have to wait till you get your green card..a bit surprised by that. I need to go find out and talk to someone. What if the permanent residency takes a little while. Wondering if the EAD card will help.

Any thoughts there guys...

Your EAD will help a lot. Also your NOA1 notice for your AOS. Good luck! I haven't gotten to that part yet!

Just to keep you guys posted.

Our biometrics was yesterday. We got that done without a hitch. It was a slow day and just one person ahead of us. We were out of there in 15 mins.

Other update... my AOS got transferred to CSC on July 8. Have not received a notice in the mail yet, but do have that message on the USCIS website.

EAD - my EAD app was touched yesterday. So, I am assuming they are working on that now and I should get the EAD card very soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Next Steps... After I get the EAD card, I plan to get my wife's SSN in her married name (I couldn't as the I-94 had expired). Also, need the SSN in her married name before I can get the Learner's permit.

Wonder if I said we don't have an SSN yet and just show the PP, marriage cert and EAD card in married name, since they won't accept the SSN in her maiden name but EAD in married name. Arrghgh!!!! :angry:

Will get there.. slowly but surely...

How do u know when the case gets transfered to CA?

Today we got a mail from Lee's Summit, Missouri stating that my wife has an initial interview in Sept for I485. Is this THE interview? Should we get this from California or Missouri?

We have still not got EAD, AP yet...

I got an email from the USCIS on my case tracking as well as a notice in the mail. Apparently if they transfer your case to CSC then chances are you don't need an interview. I am lucky but it's not definate yet. Yes, that does sound like your interview. If it goes well then she gets her greencard a few weeks after I think.

I got an email from CRIS that my case was transferred to CSC on July 8. Apparently, they mailed me a notice to that effect but I am yet to see something pop up in my mail.

EAD/AP Update - Approved on Aug 5 (update on USCIS website). EAD card production ordered on 8/5. Hopefully, I will have both in hand soon.

Next Steps - change wife's name on SSN to her married name (need EAD card for that). Next, take EAD/other docs to DMV and apply for Learner's permit.

Any update on your front guys ?

Need some help here. Yesterday went to get State ID for my wife.

The lady at the DMV office was hardly helpful...rolling her eyes etc...

She said that our name on the SSN. EAD (married name) is different from what they have in their SAVE system. They have asked us to go to some office and get that fixed as USCIS takes a long time to fix it...

What are we to do? Any ideas on anyone who has gone thro' this.

My wife had no last marriage and on the visa. Now she has taken my last name. That was the reason they gave me.
