Hey,

Does anyone know how long it usually takes the NVC to assign dates for Moscow??? My case was complete on April 28th after a long delay that was the fault of the NVC's misplacing or not understanding the PCC, I was never able to get a straight answer from them... They keep telling me that scheduling is only on the second week of the month but since my case was completed there have been two packages sent from NVC to the Moscow embassy...

I know my complaining isn't going to help... but we have been waiting for sooo long and I can only go to Russia to see my wife so often... I was hoping she would make it in time for our anniversary on June 26th but that seems like a real long shot now... How long does it typically take after case completion till interview date assignment in Moscow?

thanks,

Dylan

In the case of Moscow, it takes 1-2 weeks for your case to be transfered from USCIS to NVC, a couple weeks for your case to get to Moscow from NVC (the electronic copy gets there pretty quick, but they won't schedule an interview based on the e-copy), and then another 1-2 weeks for them to schedule the interview. The interview will generally be scheduled 3 months out from the date they schedule it.

Hope that helps!

I remember when I had your questions.

When you call the NVC number you must talk to a human. The automated system is not functioning for K-1 and K-3 visas. This is how I found out my case had been approved and the e-copy had been sent.

I then checked out the USEM webpage HERE! on Fridays and Mondays and found when the interview was scheduled. To use the search function on your browser it is available from the Edit menu (at least in Firefox).

See my timeline info below for actual dates to help you as a guide. And remember the definition for 'average'.

Russian filers are lucky in that we're one of the few consulates that have online appointment schedules, but don't rely on Moscow to actually update it as often as they say they do. You're lucky if they update it once a week.

Another tip: Don't ever pay the fee to talk to a live person. Email instead. You'll get the same info for free.
