Queue - I got an email back from the consulate stating that the AOS can be submitted on the day of interview and VFS should have really taken the doc.

I went through all the documents and got my file for the interview ready....I just want this over and done with....

How is everyone doing for a Thursday? The weekend is almost here. I need everyone prayers Sunday night in time for the interview.

Seren - Take a copy of that email with you to the interview, VFS has some funny people working there, submitting at the interview is probably better since that is sensitive dta.. Now that you have your file ready, you can relax. Don't worry we will be waiting to hear your good news early Monday Morning

Jen - Hang in there!! Hope your situation gets resolved soon. Are you feeling better?

I'm trying to get as much done with the wife, in terms of bank accounts, credit cards, healthcare as I possibly can in the next couple of days, before it gets busy again. My holdup right now is waiting for the social security number, hopefully he gets here soon.

I was wondering where could I follow up the green card thingy.. It has been 2 weeks since I arrived but I didn't even receive any welcome letter. We called the SSN call center but got no info as well about the SSN card. The operator said that it is normally 2 weeks to deliver the card but in some cases it could be up to 6 weeks and told us to go to the nearest SS office. I am sooo stuck up without SSN because we need to get some work done while husbie is still on his vacation..

Good Morning everyone!!! My wife got her SSN yesterday, now I can get started on the healthcare, bank accounts, credit cards, and the list goes on.

Candid - My wife went to the SSA office, and put in an application for her SSN, we got the card yesterday. I suggest you do the same, the person at the office mentioned that sometimes the SSA office gets the file from CBP and sometimes they don't. The welcome letter depending on your POE can take anywhere from 1 week to 1 month, it all depends on how quickly the airport sends your file to USCIS. (Take a look at my signature).

Seren - Yeah, she is actually enjoying the weather here, and thankful its not as hot as it was in India. How are you doing?

You will be soooooooo relieved once the interview is over, u'll c and it will be over with before u even know it . I still don't know how May 12th came and went by. I sometimes find it strange that we have actually passed the interview and there is nothing else left to do but wait for the reunion...Still dazed from it all I guess. I will of course be praying for my twinie

Candid, when I arrived to the US I rmb it took about 1 month for me to get my GC in the mail. I started work as soon as I had my SS# and I used my stamped passport since I did not have the GC in my possession yet. Q is right, depending on POE it can vary.

Hey Caroline, I emailed my consulate as soon as I knew they had the file. A little nudging can go a a long way sometimes. Look what it did for us. Hope u get a date soon!

I guess I will have to call the misinformation line to clarify

As for me, the Embassy told Diego today that he can pick up the packet on Tuesday and after that he can make the interview. You have to pick up the packet in the afternoon and make the appointment in the morning, so it will be Wednesday when we finally set an appt. date.

C, I guess Wednesday will be lucky Wed. for both of us as that is the day hubby is supposed to pick up his visa from embassy Once in hand, he can pay for his airfare and hopefully still be able to find a flight coming here Friday the 22nd. He said something about Saturday and I said Sat??? U better be here Friday!!!!!!!! These last few days left are the hardest to pass. I am trying to chill and be patient...but feel like juming off the couch and have to sit myself back down I guess today no excuses! Time to start cleaning and emptying his half of the closet. Still got those bulky winter clothes to deal with Definitely not looking forward to it

Hey Lis, how is zawjik liking the US? Zawji is counting the hours! He keeps saying how time seems suspended and is not moving! Any idea how long the wait is for EAD and GC these days? Good luck with that =D
