Hey May filers....keep the faith! I got a I-130 approval on July 30th and apparently a I-129 May filer has been approved as well! I'm praying we all get the approvals soon so that the USCIS can send the approved cases to the NVC, apparently there aren't enough approvals to send them there right now....argh!!!! So that means that the CSC needs to get to work!!!! Best wishes everyone.

Thank you for letting us know. It seems the USCIS is certainly into mid-April with approvals. May is just a few short weeks away from seeing the NOA2s come rolling through in big numbers.

I was browsing the uscis website and came across this:

USCIS to Accept New H-2B Fiscal Year 2009 Petitions

WASHINGTON – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today reopened the fiscal year 2009 H-2B petition filing period and will immediately accept new H-2B petitions.

Although on Jan. 7, 2009, USCIS announced it accepted and approved a sufficient number of H-2B petitions to meet the congressionally mandated annual cap of 66,000, the Department of State received far fewer than expected requests for H-2B visas and as a result, has issued only 40,640 H-2B visas for fiscal year 2009 to date. This means that there are approximately 25,000 visas that may go unused, as they have not been granted. Because of the low visa issuance rate, USCIS is reopening the filing period to allow employers to file additional petitions for qualified H-2B temporary foreign nonagricultural workers.

USCIS should just stop dealing with I130's all together and let everyone file them in the consulates where it takes 10 days to approve it.

Spouses of US citizens are obviously not very high on their priority list.

I think Al Ahly Fan is referring to my approval. I just got the approval e-mail this morning. The feeing is indescribable! :D Now the NVC journey starts. Can't wait to complete the whole process! It is a true test of patience...I wish everyone lots of luck!
