Sorry, Ber+Ter, but you yourself weren't that patient if you used an expedite (which of course you're perfectly entitled to do and that I'm sure we'd all use if we could, I know I certainly would), instead of just waiting for the 'normal' process.

BER+TER How could you even say that? You could only take 4 months of patience education before filing that shiny expedite.

You're legally able to file an expedite, that's great, congrats on getting your papers out of the USCIS outhouse. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who can do anything to get their loved ones around the USCIS black hole should do it. But for you to turn around and say USCIS teaches patience to people who cant expedite around it? That's just wrong. The rest of us who are stuck waiting for this horrible system to get our loved ones in the states don't have the privilege of getting expedites, It'd be nice if you didn't rub that in our faces while you go to your interview.

This is like two people getting a back injury and one guy goes to mexico and gets stem cells, then visits the other guy in rehab in states and tells him "life isn't fair, you have to learn patience."

I'd like to see you tell this to gogo who had to wait nearly 2 years and sued uscis twice to get around the inept US immigration system.

See "About Me" for full timeline.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone. But, we only expedited because he's overseas until April 2010 and we'd like to be together when he get's home. He has been away since March 2009, and it's been really hard due to the time difference and he's constantly on 24 hour shifts.

But regardless, good luck to everyone. :)

well the fact that she had to wait 4 months for approval means it wasn't much of an expedite

i don't think she was preaching to us

she was encouraging us

I864 delivered November 2nd.....nvc logged it on November 5th

DS230 delivered November 6th.....nvc logged it on November 12th

I was not trying to be boastful, or anything negative.

It's true, we could have expedited within the same month of filing, but we wanted to do it regularly. And then he came home for 2 weeks leave, and he took that option. And, we're been apart since 2004. Not married, but still together...: [ boy we needed patience for that.

But if you think about it, they made us wait 5 months away. It took 1 month to get our NVC number.

Ber+Ter's expedite was approved the same day. They waited/became eligible for an expedite request four months after they filed the I 130, not the same thing. Don't get me wrong, any one who has the opportunity to get out of USCIS quicker would be crazy not to, but it's not then fair to tell the rest of us, in fact the vast majority of us, that this is an opportunity to learn to be patient :(

Um. We were eligible for an expedite the same day we filed it, and USCIS told us this several times, but we wanted to wait the typical 5 months like everyone else and then he got 2 weeks leave in July, and the last week he was here, we put in the request. We were not expecting an approval at all, because expedite is mainly used for people about to deploy, not those who are already deployed. But the expedite had it's downfalls too, we had to wait 4 weeks for an NVC number.

But, let's not talk about this anymore. I don't like arguing.

Just, good luck everyone. And I pray for your speedy NOA2's! :)

We expedited the approval, we're not going to expedite to go faster through NVC or to get an interview date.

EDIT: And to May filers, April is beginning to get some approvals, so you guys are next. :)
