Hello everyone. I want to thank you in advance for your comments and thoughts. I am just wondering if the following ill be good or bad for our situation. I married my husband and am filing a IR-1/CR-1 Visa. Here are my concerns...

In 2001 on my husband came to the U.S. on a visitor visa. He extended it twice because he met someone whom he eventually married. They started the process for him to get a greencard, but the relationship didn't work out. So, from 2002-2005 he worked, had a social security card and alien registration number. In 2005 he left before the interview, because he just didn't care about staying in the U.S. since it wasn't working with his ex-wife. Needless to the say the case was denied because he didn't show for the interview and neither did his ex-wife. The divorce was finalized last year.

Well, now we are married and I would like him to be here with me in the U.S. We filed the I-130 and are awaiting our NOA1. On the I-130, I put his social that he was given when he lived here before as well as his alien registration. I am so worried about this. I don't know....I feel like this is going to be a LONG dragged out situation. Any thoughts or similar experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

okay, first.. what kind of visa did your husband had when he worked in the US while married to his first wife?

Second, how long have you guys known each other? And how much proof of bonafide relationship do you have.

My thoughts is that you may have a hard time during the interview but if you prepare for every tiny details of his former marriage and your marriage then you'd be okay. If he stumbles on the details and they become conflicting.. you will have trouble getting approved.

Good luck!
