Questions on G-325a and the I-129f petition

I am preparing all the document I will need to send with the I-129f Petition.

Some questions about the G-325a:

-What do I (the petitioner) put in the box titled "This form is submitted in connection with an application for:" I think it should be "x Other: I-129f Petition". Is this right?

-What should my fiancee (the beneficiary) put? Should she put "x Other: I-129f Petition" when we submit the I-129f and then put "Status as Permanent Resident" for her interview? Or put "x Other: I-129f Petition" for all her G-325a forms (those for the petition and the interview)?

-Lastly, has anyone else had a problem fitting the year (eg. 2007) into the space given on the form when entering the data in the computer? The space on the form I downloaded from the USCIS website does not have sufficient space so the date gets cut off.

Birth Certificate:

I know it is not necessary to send the beneficiary's birth certificate, but I would like to just to avoid an RFE if they have any questions/doubts about her name or anything like that. Because they do not ask for this document specifically, I imagine it is fine if I send a normal copy, as opposed to a certified copy. Should this document be translated? Must it be an official translation?

Also I am curious if she will need a certified, translated copy at her interview in Rio de Janeiro. Or if a certified copy and a non-certified translation (or no translation at all) would be sufficient. Apparently certified translations in Brazil are like $100 so it would be good to avoid doing that if it is not necessary. Of course, if it is necessary for her interview, I will have her do it right now and then send me a copy for me to include with the I-129f.

Question about RFE:

If something is wrong with the forms and I get an RFE, do I have to pay the fee again and resubmit, or just make a correction? I guess it doesn't really matter since I am not planning on getting an RFE but just in case....

Proof of relationship:

-Can I send a copy of a CD containing pictures of us together with the petition? Do they accept this? I could print some out as well, but I think a CD with a thousand or so pictures of us together is pretty convincing evidence!!

If they do not accept this with the I-129f petition, do they accept CD's or other digital media at the benificiary interview in Rio de Janeiro?

Do not state that it is for 'status as permanent resident' because 1-you are filing it for the visa and 2-AOS (for permanent residency) does not come until after you are married and in the states.

Corrections made with a pen when you have issues like this are perfectly acceptable.

Must it be an official translation? You do not send her birth certificate or any copies of it. The I-129F filing in the US does not deal with proofs like that. The Consulate in her country, however, will require a certified copy of her birth certificate and an official certified translation as well. Make sure that her translation comes from a certified translator because if it doesn't, they may require a translation from a different translator.

She MUST have certified translations of all documentation that is not in English. It will be expensive, yes. You may want to check into translators and so on, but it is best for her to get the translations about a week before her interview. It is adviseable not to obtain the translations more than 3 weeks before the interview.

You just submit whatever corrections they request and pay postage.

No, your pictures can be printed on regular printer paper, but they will not pull a CD out to view them, they don't need that much proof. You don't need to send many pictures. 5-6 will be just fine as long as they are all on different dates (preferably with several days/weeks/months between each picture) I could print some out as well, but I think a CD with a thousand or so pictures of us together is pretty convincing evidence!! Convincing, but they won't look, so don't waste your time and money to send the CD.

If they do not accept this with the I-129f petition, do they accept CD's or other digital media at the benificiary interview in Rio de Janeiro? I don't believe any consulates accept digital media either, but they will give your fiancee that information when they send packet 3. You can always call and ask, but it's my experience that the people trying to answer your questions really can't make those types of decisions, it depends on the interviewer.

Yes, "I-129f petiton" is correct. There is no G-325a for the interview. Next one will be with the AOS for her only. If something does not fit on the computer form, print it and hand write it. Handwritten is acceptble, partially handwritten is acceptable.

You do not need to send her birth certificte with the petition, you will not get an RFE for it.

Translations can be done by anyone fluent in the languages. They can be translated here, there, anywhere as long as the translator certifies they are true and correct. (signed and notarized statement of accuracy) You can do it yourself if you want (and can).

If you receive an RFE there are no other fees. Send them what they ask for with the return letter.

DO NOT send a CD of photos with your petition, do not use a CD of photos for the interview. Print whatever photos you want to use as evidence of meeting and send with the I-129f. You do not need to include "proof of reltionship" with the petition, only proof of meeting. The rest is for later
