St. Louis-based Solae LLC has come up with a solution, a patent-pending invention called SoleCina that involves both the process and the ingredients to produce either a "hybrid" meat — part soy, part real meat — or a completely meatless food that tastes like chicken, beef, pork or turkey.

SoleCina is supposed to taste good. Either straight soy or a mix. I try to stick to chicken now.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Soy burgers are nothing new. They used to serve them to us in elementary school in the 1960's. The school cafeteria used to drown them in mustard, mayonaise, and sweet pickle relish to make them half way palatable. Heck, they already sell another brand of soy burger patties at our local grocery store now.

There must be something new going on or the old patent ran out. Hopefully Solae found out a way to make them taste good!

It's just another gimmick to get us old folks to try to lower our cholesterol number. Sounds good to me! High protein and low saturated fat.

I'm sure PETA loves the idea.

It reminds me of the state of Louisiana's attempt to push Nutria meat as a solution to getting rid of the little heathens that have infested the wetlands and damaging them. Somehow it just didn't catch on!

Kentucky Fried Nutria anyone? Goes good with collard greens and sweet taters!

This one's a hybrid of real meat and soy. You leave it up to your tongue's tastebuds to sort it all out. :P
