Low price usually comes with many stops so I steer clear of lowest price. I look for the lowest priced direct flight at a convenient time of day. Philippines Airlines offers a direct flight that leave Manila at 10PM. 10PM is a great time to leave too, easy on the body, once in the air, they are in no time serving dinner, after dinner, since I've been up all day, it is easy to sleep all night and wake just in time for when they serve the next meal. She'll arrive in SFO around 7PM. I've been to the RP many times and every time on Philippines Airlines, not really because it is a great airline, because it actually isn't too too good as compared to others, but the schedule of the flights are perfect and the price is really good for a direct flight from SFO.

Be sure to tell her explicitly to get a seat at the end of the row and if she wants to clear customs first, try to get a seat as forward in the plane as possible (first to get off that plane is first in line at customs).

Thanks for the advice....yeah, I thinks that's the best way to go..PAL, direct flight, no connecting flight that might give her the run around....anybody just happen to know how much for one way ticket from Manila to SFO...

try this website sidestep.com they offer different prices from different online bookings. we bought my ticket in orbitz.com (just have to pay additional travel tax if the ticket was purchase outside phil)... although you can find better deals in phil thru travel agency... have your fiancee shop for tickets in phil and compare it online... good luck!!!

Tickets now might be a little higher coz its peak season. I got mine thru travel agency in the Phils, ive done business with them for the past 9 years at my previous job. I traveled thru Cathay Pacific and Continental Airways via MNL-HK, HK-NEWARK and NW-RDU for only $ 678 including ax and surcharges plus phil. travel tax of PhP 1,620. You have option to pay in Dollars or in Peso. They have promo fare for K1 and K3 visa holders. The lay over was so good, i dont need to rush to go to my connecting flight and to the immigration. You can inquire at:

Can anyone explain to me how a One Way ticket from MNL to SEA costs as much or more as a Round Trip ticket from SEA to MNL?

I've been monitoring the ticket prices for a few Weeks and now that it's getting close to time to buy, I'm wondering if I'm missing some important information.

Would it be too hard for me to buy a RT from here, and have her buy a OW from there on my return flight? Has anyone managed to pull this off?
