Thanks for the update, Mike

I got my air ticket to Guangzhou today, I will be join the ACH on Monday on the 7th, before my wife's interview on the 10th.

David L.

If you meant September 7, there would be a little problem: it's Labor Day. The Consulate observes American and Chinese holidays, so I expect it to be closed on that Monday.

Right, no ACH on Labor Day.

Thank you, Guys. I get a lot of info from VJ'ers

Just got e-mail reply from GUZ......no ACH for that week.

And my time off to China is set, maybe I will be lucky to meet some people at the coffee shop....ha ha.

CHINA APPLICANTS . . . .

;)

Although I was going the K3 route, I recently switched to the CR1 . . . . .

But I think the following is important for those trying to get a loved one out of China

However, my timeline prevents it from being seen.

My 129f zipped out the NVC to Guangzhou -of course-

04 - 24 - 2009 129f left the NVC

05 - 07 - 2009 Packet 3 received

3 weeks and 3 days

:dance::blink::star:

Am I the only one shocked at this time? (typical is 2 months?)

Do I dare hope for this speed with the CR1????

Word I got is that it is not unusual to clear in about a month but normal is about three months.

P3 is ready to mail as soon as we get the go-ahead. I am planning to go see my girls in a week or two for a month. We laugh about me getting off the plane in Chicago and then getting back on it shortly thereafter....... maybe just get a room near O'Hare! Funny but I really can't afford it. So we are facing reality. But I went to China for the first time last April/May so we have been apart for 15 months!!!!!! Thank gawd for Skype video calls!

So I called DOS 202-663-1225 and spoke with a woman, Anna with a Eastern European accent, and she said my case had left the NVC electronically (by email) and physically on 8/6. She said they did not recieve it and it usually takes three months. I asked if the electronic case had been loaded and she said they won't do anything with it until the physical case arrives. Problem is when I seach DHL http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef, I can't find any package going to Guangzhou! So I am not sure what is going on.

That's it! I'm now tracking it with email and SMS  A pair of Hunan chopsticks are waiting for you to pick up!

I hope the 9 lbs package is not yours. Anything heavier than 4 lbs will take longer to clear out of customs. See this for example:

http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?na...mber=9250708036

Just great... ANOTHER thing to stress about :crying:
