Prep'ing for Removal of Conditions

Hi guys! First off, I don't need to actually send off my removal of conditions package until September, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to start looking into everything I'll need now, just to save some work later.

The only thing I'm having a bit of trouble with, is lack of evidence that we actually live together. I think what I send in will be enough (especially since they don't usually require much bona fide evidence from Canadians,) but I just wanted a second opinion from some others to see if I should start working on getting other evidence in place.

First off, I need to explain that we live in military housing, so the housing + all the bills are in my name, not through any choice of my own. I don't think it's possible to get his name on those, since he isn't the military member...so that crosses off any chance of me getting copies of rent or utility bills.

What I do have is cell phone bills (if both our names aren't on it, I'll fix that pronto,) joint bank account statements, and a bunch of random pictures over the last year and a half since I arrived here. The credit cards are all in my name since el husbando sorta jacked up his credit before I came along. The car is in his name, as his mother bought it for us as a gift shortly after I moved down here.

I don't forsee any problems with it since I know for a fact some other Canadian couples didn't send any evidence in at all, but I'm kind of hoping if I throw some evidence in there it might lower my chance of having to go to an interview :D

Any thoughts?

To bring more evidence or not...that is the question...

do you have any kind of accounts that are either in your name or your SO's name.. I would include those, shows you live at the same address..

also you could include some kind of letter explaining your housing situation...

Was thinking along the same lines - an affidavit by someone in charge of housing or perhaps a friend/co-worker etc.

Also income tax returns would show same address (perhaps the W-2s as well). Insurance policies (car/health etc) might be helpful too.

Yes, we have a joint bank account which I'll include some recent statements from. I'm pretty sure too if I explain the housing situation, they will understand the lack of evidence in that area.

Maybe I should look back through some of the other members and see if there is anyone else with a similar situation, and see what they sent in.

Definitely I can get the copies of life insurance policies, and the health insurance statements. I don't have a will yet, since I'm pretty sure you have to actually own things of value to have a need for one of those

I also made copies of deliveries from UPS that came to one or the other of us showing we lived at the same address; magazine subscriptions to one or the other of us at the same address; the cats' microchipping registration showing this address and listing him as the other contact person, medical bills paid for each of us with the joint account; a copy of my military ID card showinghim as my sponsor; pension information with each other listed as the other's beneficiary - I have him listed as my spouse for my CPP and my Canadian pensions - letters and cards addressed to both of us from friends and family, etc.

Re - the joint bank account - include statements that cover the whole period of your marriage or examples that go back over the years and are not just the recent ones. They require evidence that covers the whole period of your marriage, not just the recent period.

Good luck.

Hi Misty1979,

This is a list of what I submitted as "joint evidence" for my I-751 case (which was approved in April 2009, VSC to CSC transfer, 8+ months later). The total amount of evidence was about 100+ pages or so, as specifically listed here:

List of Evidence (2008)

I-751 Removal of Conditions Evidence and Information..., Is this enough evidence?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...c=118868&hl=

In my opinion, it's "better safe than sorry" to submit more evidence than less evidence. After all, it's quicker to assemble an organized package of overwhelming evidence, than it is to get an rfe and/or interview and waste the extra time to have to deal with that.

Funny, how gathering all this evidence has taught me to be more organized with paperwork...

So gather as much as you can, anything and everything you can think of that is in "joint names", both financial/legal wise and personal wise. Don't throw any of the paperwork away! Be creative! Have fun "hunting and gathering and assembling"!

Hope this helps. And good luck on the rest of your immigration journey too.

Ant (Finished with I-751, Still waiting for card, Still waiting for baby...)

Hi guys! First off, I don't need to actually send off my removal of conditions package until September, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to start looking into everything I'll need now, just to save some work later.

The only thing I'm having a bit of trouble with, is lack of evidence that we actually live together.
