My Fiancee is worried about the fact she may be having her VISITOR at the time she

would be going to have her medical. Are there any Filipina here that can answer if it's

okay to have the medical done if it's time for your monthly cycle ?

Thanks,

Charles

St. lukes will always perform the medical exam before or after the menstruation. If she have it on that day, she will be told to go back when the "visitor" is gone.

Eternally destined,

1st day of medical - you should not have your VISITOR here

2nd day of medical - not necessarily coz its just immunization (provided there is no problem with your x-ray)

It's okay to have for her medical exam during her period, but she will be asked to come back once her visitor has gone to complete the physical exam. So to avoid going back and forth, if I were her I will go there once the so called visitor is gone.

 This is exactly what happened with Trisha. She did most of Day 1, then returned a few days later and finished day 2. In her case she lived near St. Lukes so it was no big deal to go back and forth.

if she knows the date on her period, better get the med early or later (but not too close to the interview date)... if both are inevitable and that she has to go when she's having the period, then she can have the option to take a pill to delay her period... i took a pill prescribed by my obgyn (i begged and begged lol) coz im always accurate and i had to have my med that week... so i took a pill and it really helped a lot!!!

good luck on her med!!!

Before I had my medical, i was reading here at VJ about their experiences and from their posts it says that if you have your period then you have to wait until it is gone. So i went at the hospital before i get my period and then i was surprised when i met someone who's having her medical too and the red flag is up. She had her medical finished even with menstruation.

I would suggest your fiancee to have her medical before the red flag is up. I guess it depends on the doctor, whether it will be fine for them to check you with your period on. It will be embarassing because you will be asked to undress completely, know what i mean.

Yeah she is right. I met someone who had her menstraution during my interview and she only end up submitting forms and normal checks like vital signs and eye test. They will just ask her to come back after her period coz she will not be able to get her physical exam to where she have to undress and all that stuff. Better to have the medical exam after the monthly period. Edited by Brettanne

I have my period during the medical. I went to st. luke april 21, tuesday but I already have my period that day so I tried my luck and when it was time for physical exam, the girl at the USA counter told to me to come back after my period stop. I went back to st. luke april 23, thursday not because my period stop already but its time to check out from the hotel so I tried my luck again and with prayers, I was done with my medical that day. I guess it depends on the doctor who will check you up. I was just lucky to landed on a kind and understanding doctora.
