Yesterday my husband received his revised EAD card in the mail. EVERYTHING the person told me on the phone at the USCIS was incorrect. Everything!!

We did not need to start all over from the beginning. No refiling of the original petition or any additional fees were needed.

My two cents worth of advice.....call the USCIS and see what they say.....then make an InfoPass appointment and talk to a person who actually works for the government. I'm not saying they will give you the answers you want -- but I personally think what they say is closer to the "truth" than the idiots on the phone line.

Thanks for the info Minfay. My wife and I have an infopass appointment on Friday to fix the misspelling of her name on the EAD Card.

This is what I did....hope this helps.

I took a NEW I-765 application -- already filled out, but not signed or dated. I DID NOT check anything on the top of the form re: Replacement.

We only got as far as the "information lady" -- she instructed me to fill out the new application -- which I already had -- and where it has "Replacement" - she had us write "Typographical Error".

She wanted us to make copies of the actual EAD card -- front and back -- and copies of the "card insert" that came with the actual card -- I already had all that.

We went to the post office and sent: the new application, the actual EAD card (with the mistake circled) and the actual "card" that it came in. We sent all this to the address on the "card insert" -- to Lee's Summit, MO. Nothing more.

We went back to her and showed her the copies of everything and the Express Mail receipt. She then took our "InfoPass Appointment Sheet" -- wrote "Temp EAD" on it and sent us to the EAD man. He asked to see our NOA's for the EAD -- we waited for a while and were called to have a new picture and fingerprint taken. We got the card in about 10 minutes.

Thanks a lot. I'll go ahead and make the relevant copies and fill out a new I-765. Hopefully the people in Orlando will be as easy to deal with.
