UK Passport Renewal in USA- Pictures Question

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I did a quick forum search, and didn't see this specific topic.

My husband is about to renew his UK passport for the first time in the USA. For those who have done so before, where did you get your passport pictures taken? My husband printed out the specs required and took them to a local drug store, and they said their specs didn't comply with the UK ones, and therefore wouldn't do them.

Just though I'd throw it out there so see what other folks have done, or if we should just do it on our own.

I got mine done here just used my own pic and they did the rest then went and collected them from my nearest Walgreens.

I just used US passport size photo's never had any problems.

I just take my own photos, then crop them to the right size in Photoshop and print them out.
