There's a homeless man a few blocks from my office who wears a filthy pair of jeans with a cut in the right leg all the way up to the hip, where an EMT has had to cut him out of them. He spends his days shouting at people in the street and urinating into a plastic bottle.

First off she is not a politician... her husband is. The American public did not pay for her footwear so it is none of our business what she chooses to wear. Her being there helps the people who need help as they ger free publicity. If she had worn old clothes she would have been jump on for not dressing like the 1st lady..
