You love being 'touched' by random strangers.

You have memorized each form number when it took you a year to memorize your own phone number.

You frequently haunt these boards and make useless posts like these on said boards.

N-400 Stuff:
07/02/16 : N-400 sent

07/11/16 : NOA1

07/28/16 : Biometrics

04/03/17: Interview (approved)

 That's great!

You know you're obsessed when you think of something you may have written incorrectly on your application and run to find your copy and check.

You know you're obsessed with you don't eat or drink in the two days leading up to your interview because you are just so nervous you could cry... or scream, whatever comes first!

...and your buddy says "seriously man I have no idea what you have been talking about for the last three months..."

oh and you call USCIS to check the status of something before you call to wish your own mother happy birthday.

lol! so true. I can be trying to explain the process to an "outsider" n the other person is looking at me like what??

"I, the USC, submitted the I-129 and then we got our noa1, then our noa2, hopefully there will be no AP. uscis then sent our file to nvc, then to the Emb where my SO will be interviewed by the CO and grant us our K1. next step is POE. after the wedding we will have to start AOS, then our CGC...." etc. its another language! :P

I am brand new to this forum but I have to admit that I have been curious as to where "USC" comes from. One of the most frequently used pieces of Department of State jargon is "AMCIT," but no one here seems to use that. Everyone uses USC instead. Is that from USCIS? State also uses "AMEMBASSY ______ " (AMEMBASSY Moscow, AMEMBASSY London, etc.) but no one here seems to have picked up on that either.

In any event it is really hard to explain to people who think that all you have to do is get married and your new spouse will magically be granted citizenship.

I gave up explaining to "outsiders", just mumble: "bureaucracy"

When you have a Ticker that says 0 HOURS and 23 Mins Since I last called USCIS.

When you have VJ or USCIS as your Homepage.

When you took out your GF/Fiance on number on 1 and put her on 2 because USCIS is now on 1 on your speed dial.

When you have made more friends on VJ than in real life.
