Well, I thought I have researched the K1 process thotoughly until I found the thread - 'The 6 Month Club"..I have been patient for 2 years getting all the proper paperwork filed in Peru for us to get to the point of even applying for the K1..Everything I researched led me to believe that she would have her visa and be in the US in 6 months..All the stats available on Visa Journey confirmed this. I just recieved NA01 May 1 and, got excited until - I stumbled on this thread..

So, my basic questiobs are:

1. It appears that everyone on the thread were from the 2nd quarter of 2008, I believe this is the same timeframe when the USICS were bombarded with apps because of the app fee increase ? Can this be a true assumption >?

2. It also appears that, some if the threads had issues with extended previous tourist visa's, multiple I 129;s filed in past, address changes and variuos other red flags >?

3. Other than a few that extended into 8 or 9 months, the 6 month clubs later updates show that they did get their NA02 shortly after the 6 months..

4. In the 4th Qrtr the USCIS news releases stated that they hired additional staff and, improved the systems and processes ?

Can I assume that my research is correct based on these learnings ? I am really expecting the NA02 in about 3 to 4 months ? This has been very stressful for us and, I am looking for logic behind why there are 1600+ members of this club..No offense but I really do not want to be a member of your club..Can someone PLEASE give me something positive..I am hoping she is here for XMAS with an NA01 of May 1, 2009,,

Good Luck to All..

APPROVED, NOTHING COMPLICATE!!!!! GOOD LUCK.

the fee change was in the year 2007 my petition hit that about a month or so after the change.

2. It also appears that, some if the threads had issues with extended previous tourist visa's, multiple I 129;s filed in past, address changes and variuos other red flags >?

there are a few threads about this but most on the six months club just got unlucky no real reason for being made to wait.

3. Other than a few that extended into 8 or 9 months, the 6 month clubs later updates show that they did get their NA02 shortly after the 6 months..

not too many couples have to wait much longer than the six months

4. In the 4th Qrtr the USCIS news releases stated that they hired additional staff and, improved the systems and processes ?

this i cant comment on because i really dont know sorry but im sure someone will come a long that know.

you should never expect ur noa2 to be given before the six months time limit they state, if it comes faster rejoice and be happy, to assume anything about any of the service centers can lead to depression and expectations that may not happen, yes many now get thru a lot faster than the six months but most from what i have seen is closer to the six month time and until that six months is compete it is not view by the service center as out of the norm.

Good Luck to All..

good luck on ur visa journey may ur journey be swift and problem free

I filed in the middle of November 2008. We are working on a CR-1 visa which supposedly takes longer than the K-1 visa. My wifes interview is this coming tuesday, 2 days short of 6 months. We had no RFE's but did lose a couple of weeks in the DS3032 acceptance phase ( The government process system is screwed up ).

So having said that if all goes well in the interview she will be able to come here 2 days short of 6 months. So for you by christmas is realistic but you cant play around you'll have to get moving and be thurough dont make any mistakes. I think that is what slows it down most, forgeting some thing or leaving things out ornot paying attention to details. Also when you do the papers dont sit on things to go to the next step be ready to move on it immediatly.

Study the Ling Che short cuts as that will help the process go much faster. ling che sortcut here. This is for the CR-1 visa but some of the steps are the same you might get a better idea of what is going on. Main thing is be prepared when the next step comes along

Ours took almost 5 months for NOA2 and that was pretty normal at the time.

Don't expect your process to take 6 months - that leads to disappointment.

On the other hand, don't expect to end up in the 6+ month waiting thread - that's a minority of the members on this board who have had awful luck and treatment. We all hope that they get their approvals ASAP and most of them do (with the exception of people like poor Sara).

Gemmie, MonkeyJuice, I see both of you have good things happening this week. Good for you on that!

I'm hoping that my file isn't stuck under someone's newspaper & coffee. I wanted to somehow force them to look at my file, since I have no touches since Jan 1. So I made a very tiny update to my address online a week or so ago. Still no touch from updating that... but I think it takes up to 2 weeks.

OP, I suggest that you the best (I originally hoped for a March approval) but plan for the worst (I'm thinking to sign the papers the weekend before Thanksgiving... surely 11 months is planning for the worst).
