can we go on the cruise?

OK I really can't find the answer so I need some help. My wife has her conditional residency right now that expires on Sept 24. We were planning on taking a cruise to the bahamahs and st martin the second week of OCT. I am planning on filing as soon as I can but I knw that I have to wait 90 days before it expires to file . So I was wondering if we can leave the country while we are waiting. They might reply quickly but if it doesn't get approved before OCT, can we go? I have to buy the tickets this weekend. What do you think? Much love for your help.

BTW by conditional residency I mean that she has her CR-1/ Permanent Resident Card-which is only good for the first 2 years
