So I'm a cheapo cheapy perfectionist with it comes to my photo albums and I wasn't really planning on printing any wedding photos until we got to America where I have this place that does them exactly the way I want for a super price, but I see that EVERYONE takes photos to the interview and interviewers seem quite interested in looking at them although I haven't seem photos called for in any official documents. How important are they and if I just print a few over here to take along, how many might do?

Photo's are good evidence you have a bona fide relationship.

variations of time/dress/location will enforce you have spent a lot of time together.

Really up to you how many you want to take. Remember - you only get one shot at a good first impression.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I would urge you to err on the side of too much rather than just squeaking by. This process is not about meeting the minimums. Why create a potential "kick yourself in the a$$" moment by getting an RFE.

Regarding photos, they can be 4 to an 8.5 x 11 page. No need for individual glossies. Just show them your wedding and all the guests having wedding type fun.

Don't let your thriftiness lead to additional cost to go an extra round of evidence, etc.

Best of luck.

Just print them from a computer? That'll work okay?

From my wife's recent CR-1 interview. She had taken about 350 photos out of the 1300 that were taken at the wedding to the interview. The interviewer went through all 350 of them.

My advice, print out the pictures and consider it as an investment in getting your spouse to the US.

Yeah, I agree with queueup. It's a good investment and hey, it's pictures of both of you. It is going to be one of the most treasurable item you have later. I don't know about you but I like to see other's wedding pictures and see how they are different from mine. As it is the same for the CO, they might want to see if it's really a good wedding or not. Let them have fun looking at them and they'll keep their mind off of the negatives. That's my .02.

Very good idea!!!! I did this with our emails...but now I'm thinking of doing it with our pictures too!!! :D

I definitely think pictures are a positive, definitely bring wedding pictures, and definitely bring pictures of you guys together before and after your wedding. They especially like pictures with members of the family in them as well. What would you think if you were an interviewer that found out you didn't print wedding pictures because you didn't want to spend money?---I understand being perfectionist about them, but realize that to the interviewer, that's a red flag. I wouldn't print the pics from a computer either... photos on regular computer paper also might seem like the pics weren't important enough for you. I agree that printing 4 a page on photo paper is an economical idea and then maybe explaining the the interviewer (IF ASKED) that you have a great place that you usually print your photos in the US... will suffice.

Thank you!! the OP said cheapo... and these are real cheapo! hehe.. I have the same thoughts as her. Didn't want to print all photos here, my hubby has this really good printer and photo paper. We were planning on assembling a photo album when I get there. PLUS, we didn't really want to carry all the big photo albums on my POE day. so when I saw these I immidiately thought that it was going to be a good solution to the whole photo evidence that is required in the USCIS. Total Cost of two Albums : USD 6... that include two albums and 80 mini photos.

I'm sure you'll find these in craft stores somewhere. Good luck!

1300 photos... :o Wow, I want to see all of them too... ;) Just kidding.

I agree with all.. Initially, my husband was planning to take couple from engagement, couple from wedding and couple from honeymoon. Our wedding album is ~ 8lbs. So, I had a small album about 40 pics in total just for immigration. But after reading all the posts, I just sent him ~100 pics more of wedding showing all the ceremonies, people, etc. Better be safe than sorry...
