Apart from that, why would anyone announce someone is REPORTED ? I think hitting the report button behind the scenes is sufficient, IMO.

noob question: How does one do that? hitting the report button behind the scenes

Go to the post. Click on the person's name, then click on report member, or praise member.

I just reported myself, and praised myself.

I have reported myself before. I figured that way, no one has to do for me what I am capable of doing myself.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Insults fall under the TOS "Make comments in a post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Forums by other users".

In addition, once the insults start they often cause a thread to go off the topic as people draw sides and start to bicker or fight among themselves instead of discussing the issue at hand. Then, before you know it, the thread is closed.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Watch the insults, people. They aren't necessary, add nothing to the information and take the discussion off-track.

Hopefully my comment regarding French being worse than gay was taken in the spirit in which it was given? I.E. a joke. I honestly do not hate the French, the gay, nor gay French people. Peace! :innocent:

Also, how does an 'off topic' thread truly ever get classified as 'off track'?

As has been mentioned before, the only problem I have with Obama ordering this burger is the fact he ordered it medium-well.

Medium-well ordered burgers are for children and hillbillies. If you order a medium well burger you might as well head over to the barber shop across the street and get a bowl cut, too.

what is wrong ordering it medium-well. I always order mine that way. reason is that medium does not get hot enough to kill off the E-coli germs in the meat if they are. you get all the pink out of the meat you most likely killed the E-Coli germ. People died from eating under cook hamburger

I've never been able to stomach rare cooked beef.

It has to be good beef. If the beef tastes good raw, it will taste good cooked.

Bill, have you tried hot pot or Pho with thin slices of raw meat? Delicious...although the meat gets cooked from the hot broth.

No, never heard of the stuff. I have eaten raw tuna, with a little powdered mustard and soy sauce. I have not done it in a while, but when preparing certain beef dishes, I would usually taste the meat to check its flavor before cooking. I still like my steaks wiggling on fire when I pull them off.

It's all wasted on the wife, because she covers everything I barbeque with Mang Tomas.

I have not seen Jinky use Mang Tomas, but she'll mix in a small dish, vinegar, soy sauce and sometimes chopped onions as a dipping sauce when eating meat. Ask your wife about hot pot (Chinese) and see if there's a place in your area. I think you'd like it. :)

LOL.

Next time you're in an Italian restaurant, try some carpaccio. It's effectively beef-sushi. Thinly sliced raw beef. I indulge occasionally. Though my better instincts are aligned with yogib37 - red meat is best eaten sparingly in small quantities, and thoroughly cooked. I just don't always listen to my better instincts, carnivore that I am :P
