Does anybody have any idea, which month cases are being processed for I-485's??? Online processing times are showing April 2008 for NY and similar time frames for other States too. Yet, I have seen Feb/March AOS applications receiving their Interview Dates, whereas we are lagging behind. My Case starts with MSC and the I-130 EAC which was later transferred to CSC. No updates and Calling USCIS is useless since they are too eager to just hang up. How do I get them to blurt out more info. My I-485 is still not online yet.

The processing dates you see posted on USCIS's site (for what ever visa) indicates the oldest petitions/applications currently being processed so they are not necessarily a realistic account of what is happening.

Check the VJ Immigration Timelines (top of page) for some more realistic times. Keep in mind - when looking at these (and other) statistics - the number of people on VJ represents only a small portion of people with active cases with USCIS so you should take them with a grain of salt - in other words, just because you see people getting approved sooner than you doesn't mean you are/are-not lagging behind.

It takes patience...

Karin & otto: Thank you. Your reply is most appreciated and answer, to my satisfaction:) But i had to ask, since its no fun pouncing on the mail to see if I got an interview call. My last inquiry with the CRIS officer related to my I-485 got me nowhere, since all the officer told me was that my case was being processed, and they have my fingerprints on file. I asked if any mail was sent out or is there any new development. His reply was a simple No. So, am not sure if does have the exact picture in front of him, since he was the second person I was transferred to and had access to my file. I did go through the VJ timeline, time and again, but, am still restless:)

Btw, since I am adjusting from B-1/B-2, which timline should I follow on VJ timline, and does CRIS sort out AOS cases based on VWP's B-2's or K visa's?

Our I-485 never even showed up online until after our interview and approval. Our I-130 still shows pending even though hubby has GC. I've been told that the USCIS customer service doesn't have access to any more info than what you are able to see online. We filed in Jan, approved April. Got GC two days ago.

I feel your frustration at reading other's timelines-it took us longer to get the approval letter and GC than a lot of other posters. Hang in there. :)

Congratulations Trillium13! Yours surely was a quick. Your case surely gave me hope and encouragement. Would you care to share, if yours was a K visa or.......

May the two of you have a wonderful life ahead.

We were VWP adjusters. Not the ideal I know, but in our case, it was the only option. :) I'm not sure whether or not that changes the AOS timeline at all, as the requirements to adjust seem to be pretty much the same. I think every office is a little different as far as how quickly things go. (or don't go ;) )

I wish you all the best of luck. I know how frustrating it is when you see other people's progress seem to go more quickly than yours. All of the waiting is so VERY hard! :clock:

Sigh...Tell me about it!! The waiting indeed is patethic:) I dont think the processing timelines that are posted at USCIS are of any use or help. God knows what pattern they are following in terms of priority or preference. I think I would categorize myself, similar to your situation since I am adjusting from Tourist. Maybe a few more weeks will bring in some good news for me. Would you share your interview experience. I know I am in for some tough questions since I am adjusting status while entering with B-2/B-1. The marriage in good faith has already been taken care of by our baby that is due in August:) Its just the intent and adjustment from Visitor. Thats a tough one. Many applicants here that are adjusting status from Tourist or VWP have shared their interview experiences and some have been lucky to get away with the questions related to visa fraud. Some have had some tough times.

Once again, trilluim13, CONGRATULATIONS!

I know how hard waiting is! We were lucky to get approved fairly quickly (also VWP), though we never really had any touches and the time estimates for our local office didn't seem to have any relevance, so we gave up looking at both - less stressful that way! From what I have seen, there doesn't seem to be any obvious difference in the processing time for VWP/B1/2 AOS vs K1 AOS, except of course that we have interviews and the K1 people might not. Hang in there Saspak, it hasn't been excessively long for you and I'm sure you'll hear something soon :)

Removing conditions:

10/9/10 - Package sent to Vermont

10/13/10 - NOA1 date, received 10/18

Seems like I will have to follow your footsteps and not look at the processing timelines posted by USCIS. Till I got my EAD and AP, I was going fine and within the timeframe but lately its getting annoying:) I am so home-sick right now. Just wanna get the next flight back home. That is one of the reasons I am desperately waiting for the interview. One way or the other, I will be emancipated and would be able to go back home with some peace:) Thatnk You Jon&Lindsey for your encouraging reply. I wish you both the best of life ahead.

We did a lot of worrying before our interview, believe me. ;) For all the worrying we did, though, we weren't asked any hard questions. We were hardly asked any questions at all. It's my understanding that most of those who adjust from tourist visas and VWP's are successful, even though it IS much more risky. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong, of course. :)

I think that if your intent upon coming here wasn't to stay, and if your marriage truly is legit, it will show through, and you won't have any problems at all at your interview. I know from personal experience how nerve racking this whole process is, especially via this route. If we could have done it any other way, we would have. We really spent a lot of time preparing, both our original AOS package, and our evidence for interview. We also spent a lot of time asking questions on various boards. ;) I think it really paid off, because it all went as smoothly as it possibly could have. I really think they pay a lot of attention to your demeanor at interview, and how you interact with each other.

I wish you the best of luck, keep us posted!

Thanks trillium13 for the detailed reply. I will keep you posted if there is any other news related to my case. The USCIS has scheduled a maintenance for its site today. Who knows, they may update the processing timelines and my I-485 might mysteriously come online too:) Like you said, it is my understanding too, that most VWP's, F1 or Tourist AOS applicants are successful as long as they dont come up with obvious visa-fraud indications or have a criminal record. I am only concentrating on the adjustment from B-2. Cause though, the intention was to get married, but in my home country and not the US. And i didn't make this trip with the intention. I have been visiting the US frequently in the past too. I hope the interview is before my baby's delivery date, otherwise its gonna be too hard and difficult for my wife to wait long hours at the immigration office. Take care and God Bless You.
