Hi all.

We got approved for the K-1 visa at 13th April 2009.

My fiance who is the petitioner called the NVC and entered our casenumber, however it said something like invalid number or so.

He then called the USCIS and got told that we shouldn't worry, they just had loads of applications to do or so, so they are behind.

(I didnt hear the conversation but something like it)

My questions is, is it normal that it can take up to 1 month before it reach NVC?

The automated system at NVC only provides information for Immigrant visa petitions lilke CR-1 and IR-1. K-Visas are NON-Immigrant and have very little processing at NVC so the automated system will not have any information.

You need to talk to an operator, or use their email addess.

call the National Visa Center at 603-334-0700 or email NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Have Beneficiary and Petitioner's Names and DOB handy when emailing or calling.

Unfortunately it's not unusual for it to take 2-4 weeks (sometimes longer).
