Does he already have the US passport? If he does, then no need defintely. If your son does not have the US passport yet and will accompany you to USA, then I think it would be nice if you go with your son. Since the guy at the embassy already told you to bring him along, then sure - it can only be helpful in the interviewer's decision to grant you the VISA.

Are minors expected to be present at the interview. My son is 2yrs old?? The guy at the embassy told me probably yeah. Dunno for sure who decides anyway?

Sep 6, 2011 -- Mailed I-751 Packet to lift conditions

Sep 13, 2011 -- NOA received date.

Sep 29, 2011 -- Biometric appointment.
