Keep in mind that for renewals you have to personally appear at the embassy or consulate with jurisdiction over your state. So why not wait until you get there and ask the embassy or consulate if they have a photo service you can pay for.

I agree. Some Consulate has a photo service like the Phil.Consulate in South Florida.

I will. It's just that I already spent over $50 in passport photos. I'd hate for it go to waste.

Bluemist. I tried at all the places you mentioned except UPS.

I guess all I can do is try to use them. We will be going on May 26. I decided to stay in DC from Monday - Friday, and make a vacation out of it. If they don't like our photos on Tuesday, I'll make new ones and bring them Wednesday.

LOL, well we just finished the renewal, and they didn't like our photos. We had to go to a CVS that was a few blocks away to take more.

So anyone needing filipino passport photos should wait and have them done near the embassy. Especially if you're like me and can't find anyone that does them with the "blue background" and the proper photo sizes. If you happen to be going to DC like I did, you can get the right photos taken at a CVS thats a couple of blocks away, on the corner of 17th street and P street. Thats where they sent us to do them. You should do them there and save yourself from having to stand in line twice.

We reported our marriage in LA but LA consulate has different passport size requirements than NY consulate. What we did just cut it and paste it to the form. But if you want to have a passport photos for renewal you should do it to accredited CVS or else you have to do it again. Consulate in NY requires 3 certified copies while LA consulate requires 4 certified copies. Confusing, oh well ....

For rheanick and any other Arizona residents reading this thread,

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding requirements for the new passport and the report of marriage. Just thought I would add my 2 cents...

If you plan on attending the LA consulate's outreach event in Chandler on July 18th, the best thing you can do at this point is to fax the applications for the report of marriage and passport renewal. The fax does not have to be notarized. Be sure to include a short cover letter explaining that you would like to make an appointment in Chandler, and for what reason.

The LA consulate is probably still taking reservations, but as you can see from this up-to-date appointment schedule, the lines will be long. There will probably be 300+ that day. Why they don't show up here more than once every 3 months, I don't know.

BTW, regarding the confusion surrounding certified vs. regular copies of the Record of Marriage (for the Report of Marriage application), the LA consulate only needs 4 photocopies, not certified copies. No need to shell out $25 -$30 dollars apiece for this.

Here's what we faxed to the consulate, in order to make our reservation:

Passport application

Report of Marriage Contracted Abroad

Certificate of Marriage

Record of Marriage

Birth Certificate of Wife

Passport of Wife

Passport of Husband

The consulate's fax number is (213) 639-0990. Hope this helps.

i forgot to post an update after our trip to Chicago. :bonk:

the 3 copies of the report of marriage you need....are made AFTER you tape the passport photos to the original.

they told us it would take 5-6 weeks for the new passport to arrive at our house...we got it in 22 days.
