That's not what they are doing though. They are hiring actors to 'simulate sexual acts' for the purpose of promoting a story line in a film - not hiring someone to have sex. It's a fine blurry line but art will win out!

 So you already stated that you don't watch porn. Perhaps you're not familiar with typical output of this industry. Long-gone are those quaint 1970s flicks that had a pretense of a plot and storyline before everyone on set got down to business. These days in the hardcore scene the "actors" generally don't even have any speaking parts other than grunting and heavy moaning. Not that I'm complaining, mind you! :innocent:

Its not always actors stimulating sexual acts. There are pure home made porns where multiple people participate in various ways and it is sold on the internet.

Or there are sites where a couple or again multiple people gets paid just to show their sexual act live. How can you really say its not prostitution when they are getting paid for having sex.

I don't have any problem with prostitution or porn, I enjoying watching porn. But as my question from the start was, how government differentiate what is legal and what is illegal just because someone is doing infront of the camera and someone isn't?

May be because if you are doing infront of the camera, most probably you are doing through an agency, and that agency pays taxes but if you are just a street hooker or met someone through a random site and want to do some dirty in exchange of money, government isn't going to know about it, how can they allow such an atrocity where they can't have their share of tax revenue.......right?

We caught a bit of the AVN awards the other night. Very strange bunch of people - and a list of awards that dwarfed the Oscars - with women cheerfully admitting to being nominated for the "best double #######".

The 70's porn is what I am thinking of. I have 'seen' hard core porn (once, accidentally) and it's just weird. It must be a 'guy' thing :P

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I agree its inordinately difficult to separate the two. California seems to have managed it somehow, despite the fact that prostitution and solicitation are illegal over there.

One of those weird things that don't make sense. I expect it involves a lot of disclaimers - like suggesting that the sex was something done by consensual adults and the movie didn't set out for the express purpose of filming them doing it.

There are many loopholes to the prostitution thing also. The only prostitutes I see getting arrested are the crack addicted ones who walk up and down the street. The ones at the "happy ending" massage parlors, strip clubs and the ones who work out of their homes are left alone.

Very true. There is such a "massage parlor" in my small town of Athens, GA. Everyone knows you can get more than a massage there. The "spa" did get in trouble one time though...because they were flushing the condoms down the toilet and they blocked the pipes in the area. The CVS and grocery store in the same parking lot didn't have water for 2 days! The spa didn't really get in trouble though because condoms in the pipes doesn't prove anything! But if we know, the police know and clearly they don't care since the place has been in business as long as I can remember!

I would imagine that they get around it by sticking to the story that the place is a legitimate business selling massage and aromatherapy etc. and if the staff "choose" to do anything besides that, that this is their own discretion.

Of course - most businesses that caught an employee having sex on the premises would probably be handing them their pink slip.

If you want to get an idea of just how much sex-for-sale goes on each and every day in every city in America, all you have to do is take a gander at Craigslist Erotic listings for your local city or town. You'll find it updates about as frequently as this VJ post does!

I get the feeling though, that women these days are trying to feign a desire for it - but I don't get it. Women are more often turned on by the 'bodice ripper' romance type of porn where the emphasis is on feelings, not on staring at random body parts. That is surely a male province :P
