Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Hmm in that sense, if Johnny boy hooks up with Helda Head at an alley, all he will have to say in a technical manner-- baby I am making a movie, would you act.........here is the transcript----- ohh ahhhhhhh ahhhh (make all the sex noise)

And bingo that is legal?? And say Helda Head turns out to be a cop, she can't arrest Johnny boy?

In 2004, the federal government expressed its position: "The United States government takes a firm stance against proposals to legalize prostitution because prostitution directly contributes to the modern-day slave trade and is inherently demeaning."

Oo....now it's getting interesting! This is great opening for us to talk about whether we think prostitution should be legal or not....... :pop:

But of course!

Why the heck shouldn't it be? As long as it's between consenting adults over 18, what business is it of the state?

I'm sympathetic to the claim that it preys upon disadvantaged women (and men, to a degree). Ok, so address the socioeconomic considerations. It shouldn't be a legal matter if a call-girl wants to operate a business, and customers want to engage.

Well, there are big differences. Prostitution is essentially requires having sex with multiple partners, porn does not (although of course, a prostitute may have a very small or a very wide client base and a porn star may co star with more than one partner but you get the idea). It is also possible, even likely that the sex in porn is simulated (although, what the difference is somewhat baffles me :)) while the sex for the prostitute might be, the intention for the client is going to be 'real' sex. So, while porn and prostitution are aspects of the sex industry, they are not interchangeable.

Presumably what you want is for there to be some uniformity in 'paid for sex' activity. Good luck with that :)

Then the government is going to have to regulate the industry to place safeguards for those involved. No thanks.

when they legalize prostitution we won't have to worry about questions like that.

I could be wrong about this - but I think that a lot of porn actors are also prostitutes on the side.

If prostitution becomes legal it becomes safer. Right now you don't know what crack ####### you might get and what diseases they may have. If it becomes a legal business (albeit restricted) then there will be frequent tests for STD's and its becomes safer for both parties. Other countries allow it on a very restricted basis (Holland and Australia spring to mind).

I agree. I think that it should be legal and controlled as well. If prostitution is legal then the state can control a lot more than they are able to control now -mandatory STD tests every 3 months, register papers for every girl and boy, ect. I totally understand about the 'slave' fears of prostitution, but at the same time, I do not see how making it legal or keeping it illegal make much of a difference to that. I don't think that making it legal would make more girls do it then do it now...being a prostitute in America now would be more risky because it's illegal...but plenty of people still do it!

As long as the girls (and boys....because come on, there are boy prostitutes as well) are over age and willing, then what's the problem?? I never understood how prostitution and stripping were considered degrading to women. If a woman chooses to sell her body then good for her! Being a prostitute would be hard work!! I'm not necessarily talking about the girls you find on the street, but girls that work for agencies. They have to look good, maintain their bodies and make sure that every single day of the year they are hairless, ready and willing.
