Hi All,

In this section on the DS230 where it asks for trips to the US, would it suffice to put 'many entries into Oklahoma the last 3 years to visit family, none lasting longer than 3 weeks'. I'm not trying to be lazy it's just I'd estimate having entered the US at least 20 times to visit the family . I would basically have a week every second month for the last 3 years. Thanks

It was nicely spaced out but lost its format during posting but hopefully still helps.

Thank you so much. I guess I have a little bit of work ahead of me tomorrow- going through all of the old passport pages for dates.

I listed the trips for the last year or so, and then put "and several other trips over my lifetime ranging in length from one day to 3 weeks" or some such.

They're used to that with the Canadians, given that 90% of the population lives within 2 hours drive of the border. But you should at least detail the most recent trips.

I simply put "numerous" on the form. Then before the interview, I got paranoid about it so on a separate sheet of paper I listed as many trips as I could remember in case they asked. I was never asked.

That's exactly what I entered..... "numerous visits but none lasting longer than 3 weeks". We had called the NVC on that question and they told us they knew that Canadians are frequent crossers so they don't expect a list. They're just looking for overstays.

I just put the last 3 visits, and then wrote, mutiple visits none longer than 10 days.

The DS 160 asks for the last 5 trips (specific dates) so if you have to filll out that form you will need to list them there - I can't tell if you need that form because your timelines is blank.

For the DS 230 I was a little paranoid and listed all the trips I could remember taking... there were about 3 pages worth. I know this wasn't necessary, as most people who don't and aren't questioned about it at all. However, at the interview the officer turned to that page and thanked me for providing such a complete list and said I made her life easier. The only thing she asked about my trips was if I had ever stayed for 5 or 6 months or longer.

It made me feel good that she appreciated my attention to detail :innocent:

This question caught me off guard too...I mean, I can't even count the number of times I crossed the border just to grab lunch, mail something, or go shopping. Granted most of those types of trips were pre-9/11, but I've still made numerous <10 hour trips back and forth.

I wonder if there is a place where we can access our crossing information? Cause without that, I only know the major dates where I actually flew somewhere...and even some of those I'm not sure I can remember without a lot of research...

There is no place to get that information.

Best suggestion I can think of is use a planner/calendar of some sort. Go back and think of holidays, nirthdays, special events, concerts, whatever. Then, from here on out, make sure a planner/calendar of some sort is kept for travels over the border. We were lucky enough to go backwards doing exactly that. We knew what we did for birthdays and then checked calendars for likely entry/departure dates as well as special events (him asking my parents for permission to get engaged, getting engaged, family visits, concerts, etc.).

Good luck!

3/19/12 - RFE

5/3/12 - RoC APPROVED!!!
