Very SAD news for my wedding day

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

gosh...a contractor at work got home yesterday to find her dog had died, and her neighbours had already buried him! I was talking to her just bawling. I miss my Bruno so much I still cry almost every day. A little less every time, but there's just a big gaping hole where he used to be. It's so hard to get used to life without him.

It does get the tiniest little bit better every day. But don't expect "normal" any time soon.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Big hugs to you, your family, and Babe too. Dogs really are part of our families. How sad this had to happen on the day of your wedding. I'm so very sorry.

here's the story..Me and my husband got married this afternoon, we we're very happy on that time.. we went to have our ceremony with my husbands grandparents..we went home after that and we decided to have a dinner at Sushi Sake restaurant here in Texas.. We are so happy on that time..After we had our dinner,we went home.. and my husband and I decided to go out to buy some DS Games and Xbox games,we went to starbucks.. and, while we are heading to go home,, on our street we saw a white pet laying in the middle of the street..my husband driving a car and when we saw the white pet in the middle of the street ,we get out of the car and we knew that it was our dog Babe..she was hit at the head and I saw a blood on the floor..it was really really painful..it so terrible that it happened today..we are so upset and very very sad...

Our wedding reception is on Sunday and it will be held at the house of my grandparents..very sad that their almost 8 years dog died..until now we are crying and can't forget our dog..she was really really a nice dog..our guard dog and barking when there's a mail man..and in the morning,knocking my door in my room to get inside and sleep with us in our bed..she will be very missed..my grandparents in-law got the dog since 2001..she was a very healthy,and a nice dog..she loves to play and loves to talk with us..its really really hard that our dog had to leave...

Thank you so much for all the messages.. it's really hard that our dog died, I've been with her for almost 3 months only,and I feel so close to her..Dog's are man's bestfriend's.. everyday I am thinking about my dog,,she's always in my mind,I am so crazy sometimes because I always tell my husband that I want our dog Babe back and alive..She's really a nice dog, we missed her so much.

Our family and our neighbor decided that we will buried Babe's body on our backyard, that's why everytime I see the grave of Babe, I can't stop to feel so sad,,I am starting to move on,and it's hard..I am glad my husband is here to comfort me.. I wish I have a power that I can bring back the dog alive, but it's really impossible..

I want to say Thank you so much for all the VJ member's who post messages in this thread..it helps alot. Thank you so much.I know that dog Babe is happy and she's in heaven now..she died so happy, she just waited that me and my husband get married,,I wish she could be with the family on our reception but she died early..she's really a great dog and we miss her so much..

Me and and my husband and our grandparents talked last night, they allow me to get a new dog..at first my grandfather don't want to get any animal anymore, because it's painful when the animal died..

I am so glad he changed his mind and he allowed me to have a new dog..

we are going to buy a new dog on Monday..I am happy and excited because we will have a new dog family..

I understand how you feel dear. My family lost one of our two dogs Nov 16th 2008. It still hurts till today....
