DSWD

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) calls on parents or guardians of minors who are going to travel abroad this summer to secure the minor’s travel permit early to avoid delay. This is due to the influx of applicants for travel clearance and parental travel permit in DSWD regional offices especially in the National Capital Region (Metro Manila).

The DSWD also clarified that minors who are travelling with both parents do not need to apply for travel clearance.

The DSWD also reiterated that a child travelling with one parent needs only a Parental Travel Permit (PTP) duly stamped with a DSWD logo and not a travel clearance. A PTP is a written permission executed by anyone of the biological parents who will be left behind allowing the minor to travel abroad with the other spouse. Among the requirements for issuance of PTP are: duly notarized PTP; birth certificate on security paper (SECPA) of the minor; certified copy of marriage certificate of minor’s parents; and photocopy of passport and visa of accompanying parent.

Meanwhile, Filipino minors, below 18 years old, travelling outside the Philippines, alone or accompanied by persons other than their biological parents should secure a travel clearance from the DSWD Regional Office where the minor resides. A travel clearance is also issued to children travelling for the purpose of adoption abroad, a minor adopted in the Philippines and an illegitimate child travelling with his or her biological father.

Thanks ManilaIdaho,im just confuse if i need to secure PTP.According to DSWD website:

A parent/person granted by the Court sole and absolute legal guardianship, parental authority or legal custody over the child is exempted to secure consent from the other spouse. This shall apply in situations where the parents are legally separated, divorced or have had their marriage annulled, and the Court granted sole custody and parental authority on one parent. The Court decision granting said divorce, legal separation or annulment should include a statement to this effect i.e. to whom the sole custody and parental authority is vested.
