Hi all!

I am new to this site and I've been looking over the forum for assistance but I would prefer to just post a question to get direct guidance right now! I feel so overwhelmed with all that needs to be done and I just want to make sure it is all done correctly.

1. First of all, do the (the petitioner) copies of my birth certificate and passport need to be notarized?

2. What needs to be included from my fiance (petitioner)?

G 325 A signed and dated, 2 Passport photos signed on the back, and letter of intent signed and dated

Is this correct or is there more he needs to send me?

I am just clarifying because I have papers from a lawyer stating we both need a list of addresses from the previous 5 years, job titles and addresses of employers; last address of residence outside the U.S; petitioner and beneficiary birth cert; medical exam of beneficiary; letters from both of our employers stating how much we make as well as income tax returns from the past 3 years.

I just want to make extra sure that I do not need these items initially. Are they included down the line in the process and I just mail them to the beneficiary? What else will I need to send him? I should make copies of everything he sends me along with everything I send, what about the signatures?

I just want to make sure I have every single thing needed for the I-129 package.

Thank you all for your help!!!!

You have most of it correct..Except if you use a birth certificate you do not need the passport also unless you do not have your boarding passes as proof of you flight..Also they do not need to be notarized..But do copy both front and back of the BC..

As far as the taxes info and letters from employer that does not come until after they approve the petition and request the affidavid of support..That is where this comes into play..Send in as much evidence as you can..Also I suggest reading prior posts that have covered this topic numerous times..Just do a search....Good Luck

1) NO

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

2) :guides: Note: Petitioner is US Citizen, Beneficiary is Foreign Citizen, Beneficiary tends to provide letter of intent, Passport photo, and a G-325A and evidence of having beed to gether in past 2 years if they cane to the USA.

Thank you both so much!

So, basically it wouldn't hurt to start collecting the other information. Do you know of a way for me to get a tax return if I don't have one from 3 years ago? When do all the salary/employer/address/paystubs go out?

Also, how many copies of the items I send off with the I-129 am I going to need to make? I send one off to USCIS and keep the other copy to mail to my fiance when it is time? How will I know when to mail it?

Again, thank you, I'm a newbie, I've been reading everything but it just helps to clarify!

You have time for the returns, they are NOT needed when filing the I-129F. They will be needed at the time of visa interview, they will be attached to the I-134 brought by benificiary to the visa interview.

You can contact IRS and get transcripts, ONLY prior (2008) return is required, additional years are optional and can be included IF you feel that they will help your case.

Mail package copy to fiancee after you get the I-129F Approval notice (NOA2), this is when you send fiancee the I-134 for interview.
