I am a K-1 Visa Holder and got married in early April 2009. I don't have a SSN yet and will plan to apply for one soon.

I am about to file my AOS in a few days. Can anyone help me on the following questions?

Q1. I am still not sure how many photos should I submit?

2 pcs for AOS, I-131 and I-765 in total or 2 pcs for each? I take the advice on VJ to apply all three concurrently but I don't know if I should send more pictures in the package.

Q2. How to categorize the forms and supporting documents?

Should I place 3 different folders for I-485, I-131 and I-765?

Can any 2009 March or earlier filers share your experience?

Q3. File Number on G325A

Looks like that that file number is the Alien Number. I have not been informed of any Alien Number since I landed Hawaii as K-1 Visa Holder. Does it mean that I don't have one. So, I am supposed to file out "NONE" in that column, right?

Thanks,

fanny

1. Total of 6 passport pictures ( 2 forEAD, 2 for AP and 2 for AOS)

2. I used binder clips for each form (AOS, AP and EAD) in one envelop

3. Alien Registration Number - or ARN number, a number issued in the United States by INS, for purposes of the alien to become a US Citizen. This number is listed on the second I-797 Approval Notice (e.g. A77 xxx xxx)

I placed them in 3 separate folders and had a cover letter. I also placed info on each of the folders on what it contains

Don't remember what I put there..Sorry...

Thanks,

A follow-up question:

Is it necessary to file the certified copy of marriage certificate in the folders of EAD and Advance Parole? It does not say in the instructions but some K-3 holder filed that in the application.

And what to be included in the folders of EAD and Advance Parole, on top of the two photos, copy of birth certificate, one set of copies of my passport and K-1 Visa?

No. This is what I send to my EAD and AP : Copy of the non US Citizens Passport (including Biographical page), Copy of I-94 (front and back), Two (2) Passport style Photographs and Copy of Non US Citizens Visa.

I forgot Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole included for AP.

Thanks Pretty Angel for your prompt reply.

You raised a wonderful question. What actually is "Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of an advance parole document"? Does it mean that I shall write why I have to apply for the advance parole and write something that I will surely come back to the USA to wait for the approval of AOS?

I did some searches on here and someone else posted a similar question. They received this answer by Nich-Nick:

Statement we used on a separate sheet of paper added to the end of the I-131:

I-131, Application for Travel Document, Part 7

Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole

I wish to apply for advance parole and obtain the necessary permission to travel to my home country prior to receipt of permanent residency status in the event of emergency or family illness. I also have a house for sale in the United Kingdom and will need to return there to complete the sale. I do not have any specific plans to travel at this time.
