Why does Congress want to get rid of Oklahoma?

does that mean all national highways will go away and we'll need an Oklahoma passport to get in?

I don't know, but when I googled Oklahoma, I got this picture with the statement, "The proper way to pronounce Oklahoma."

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

It'd be a good thing if Oklahoma went out on their own. This state's been sucking on Uncle Sam's teat for the last two decades - on average to the tune of 4.25 billion dollars anually. Let them venture out and pay their own fcuking way. It's like the juvenile that rebels against the very hands that feed him. Folks in Oklahoma might just need a lesson in the actual cost of their existence.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

What we have here are growing fractures in the nation.

The American people are growing more and more divided.

Where all this ends is hard to say but don't underestimate it's possibility.

It's interesting, though, how mostly the takers want to break away. I say let them get a taste of the break-away by not allocating any federal dollar above and beyond what they contribute to the Union and watch them fall back in line real quick.

Define what you mean by "takers".

I think you are hugely mistaken to believe "money" is the root of all motivation.

Consider what issues are most near and dear to your heart, would you be willing to pay more in taxes for these issues?

whats even more juvenile is when someone continues to misrepresnt what ALL of the states proclaiming 'sovereignty' are doing. which is sending a reminder to Washington that it has over stepped its intended boundries. the federal gov't was intended to support state gov't, not place mandates on how each state is governed.

its also intersting how one can continue to babble on & on about how the 'takers' are this & that. they need to learn a lesson. while still blaming the past administration for this & that. and NEVER admitting that one's own state is to blame for the previous administration being in power for a second term. but, don't let those hanging chads get in the way of your view of how this counrty should be run or who is to blame for our current economic & world political sitsuation.

Rant, rant, rant. The truth hurts a bit, I guess?

BTW, there have never been any hanging chads in any state I resided in at the time of federal election; I moved to FL only in mid 2006. The damage was already done at that point. We did much better in 2008. :)

As I said, why don't the states that want to break loose practice the move by unlatching from Uncle Sam's teat? If it's near and dear to their heart, then I am sure the citizens of such states will embrace the additional tax burden and/or spending reductions the state legislator will impose in preparation of the secession. The bottom line is that I'll take all this secession noise seriously once I see that the good people of Oklahoma and other states ready to leave the union put their money where their mouth is.
