Quick Question: Do I need a certified copy of my birth certificate?

This is for the AOS application for my wife. Please advise if this need to be certified.

Also do I need one later on?

05/17/09 - 05/21/09 - Preparing papers - (i-130, i-864, i-485, i-765, i-693, g-325a).

05/22/09 - Mailed out papers (Priority Mail - since its Memorial Day Weekend)

05/26/09 - Papers delivered @ 9:06 AM and signed in Chicago by JH

06/03/09 - Checks got cleared after 8 days.

06/05/09 - Received NOAs for I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131

06/12/09 - Received BioMetrics letter. :) Hurray!

06/31/09 - AP Approved

07/01/09 - EA Approved & Card production ordered

07/06/09 - Received AP

07/08/09 - Interview Set for 08/20/09

08/20/09 - Interview and got APPROVED

Timeline

Attach a Photocopy with the application. Thats what I did. Also, take a copy along with the originals when you get to the interview stage.

02/13/09 - I-765 Biometrics

02/17/09 - I-485 Biometrics

04/23/09 - Interview - Approved!

04/27/09 - Card production ordered

05/02/09 - Welcome to America letter

05/06/09 - Green card received!

Thanks. One other thing, my wife's birth certificate from poland, does it need to be notarize as well? We got the doc today. Please advise.

accompanied by a full English translation that the

translator has certified as complete and correct, and by

the translator's certification that he or she is competent

to translate the foreign language into English.

Dunno how it works in Poland, but I had my mother go to the local registry in the town where she lives and I was born, and pull an "international certificate of birth" where each field had a legend in multiple languages. That was enough for USCIS purposes. Attached a photocopy (well a scan and print) to each of the forms and brought the original she mailed me to our interview.
