Maiden name versus married name

Hi,

I have a question. After I entered the US with a K3 visa (issued to my maiden name) I applied for adjustment of status, using my maiden name as well ( my passport was the only document I had).

But then I started to use my married name, and my EAD, social security card and driver licence were issued to my married name.

Now I am concerned, because when I get my green card , it will have only my maiden name on it, and I afraid this might cause problem with my job and all the rest......so I send a letter to the INS with a copy of my marriage certificate asking to add my married name to my I-485 application so that my green card will show both names ( that's what an immigration officer over the phone suggested to do).

Since then I haven't heard anything from them though.

Also apparently they assigned me two differend A#, the one on my I-485 (maiden name) is different than the one on my EAD ( married name), but the INS is aware I'm using both names, because when I filed

I-485 and I-765 I respectevely indicated the other name as "other used name", so can somebody please give me a clarification?

Thank you! :luv:
