Med exam is usually, blood taken, chest xray, depending on age a breast exam, if too young for breast exam they MAY take a quick peek under the underwear to make sure you are female (yeah I know but they do it in many places) - you can ask for a chaperone in most panel physician surgerys for during the medical; though they are not ALWYS available. They weigh you, check your height, eye exam, look in ears..I think that's about it.

They will ask questions, there are forms to fill in as well.

I'm basing my reply on the medical I went thru in LONDON - you may want to post in the Regional forum for your part of the world in case there are diffferences.

As to how long it takes - depends on how many people they are dealing with - mine took around an hour.

don't worry! You aren't secretly severely ill with some dread disease that will only be uncovered at the visa examination! lol You'll be okay. My fiance' has his medical in 2 weeks and I suspect the worst part of it will be waiting around and probably having to stay there the whole day half-naked. But you know you're healthy and that you aren't inadmissable for a visa due to illness, so don't be scared about it!

have just done it today, after filling and signing the forms, and paying for me and my adult son each 350 $ and 120$ for my daughter, we had to do the weight, size, blood pressure and puls, then eye test. after the doc came in and examined us, that means, listen our heart and breath, opening the mouth and say A, beeing asked if we had ever serious illnes and had to fill the forms completly. that was all of it. then we had to pee in a glas, given our blood and we went to do the thorax x-ray. that was all of it. easy and simple...
