JGA: Great about the cancellation and getting a new, sooner appointment. I'm sorry to hear about the house and the burglary!!

Sharpie: Sorry! Edit... I think you might have sent it to the Express Mail address so it should still get there!

well, on the form, we put our travel date as the 20th of July. I also sent them an email on the 22nd of June, as our house in Texas has been broken into and I asked if we could get an appointment date sooner. The reply to the email was today and it just said that an interview letter had been sent out today with an interview date of the 7th. My brother was not able to fix the back door, the point of entry as the policeman called it, he has nailed a board over the door. He is staying there temporarily to keep a watch on it, but he has to report to his new duty station by the 8th of July. So my house is going to be sitting empty and available to all to get into. I am going crazy

I put August as that was our original intended move date and I still had it in my head when I was filling in the forms. It's not a total lie, we should be heading over to househunt at that point.

Sorry to hear about your house. I'd be going out of my mind right now. I'm glad your hubby got an earlier date though, at least that's one less thing to worry about :)

The medical was fine. I managed to stress and salt my way up to a respectable 120/70 BP, lol. The appointment took around 50 minutes, but it didn't really feel like it. All of the reviews in the UK forum are about right, but EVERYONE I dealt with was lovely and there were no bitchy receptionists or anything.

Oh, and "hospitalisation" refers to any overnight stays, so I ended up as a "no" on that one :)

We also got there slightly early so we walked down the street to Debenhams for a fried breakfast. £2.99 for 6 items - score!!

We just got back from London. We had a very nice receptionist and a nice South African doctor. His appointment was at 9:10 and we were out in like 25 or 30 minutes. The doctor told him that everything is fine but if something shows on the xray or blood test, they would let him know. Can't wait til next week.

Hey! I wasn't allowed to say that about your timeline, Yvie! Haha. Yours is flying though. Congrats on the interview - that's so close now!

I've just looked at the website for processing dates and it's taken then all of June to process from May 21 - May 31. As of today, 1 of July they are only processing June 1!?!? And then there's a holiday in there with 4th of July so it's going to take even longer! Ugh.

To steal a phrase from the Brits - they've obviously got the works experience kid working on these new petitions!

Tell me about it, 77 days from posting the I-130 to the interview date is ridiculous. I really hope everyone's moves as quickly as ours has so far.

Obviously, we could still fall at the final hurdle where the I-864 comes into play, so we're not counting our chickens just yet :)

That non-moving date must be a constant source of frustration. I'd say "don't keep looking at it" but I was in your position a month ago and I was just as bad! Having said that, we got our NOA2 before the dates had been updated on the website, so it's really only a guide.

I just submitted my I-130 (about 2 weeks ago) and I have seen on my credit card statement that they have charged us, but I haven't heard anything from them. Has this happened to anyone else? I was just wondering if they send out an email (i included my email address on the form) or if they sent a reciept through. I am just getting worried now!

Same happened to me, they took the payment and then nothing till I got an RFE (request for evidence) sent that right back then NOA2 appeared in the mail. I treated the date they took payment from my credit card as my NOA1, as the people who had received NOA1's where dated the day payment was taken. From what I can tell, once payment is taken from your card it means they have accepted the I-130 into the system. Try not to worry trust me, I worry enough to cover everyone...lol
