i called NVC today to find out whether there was a way to get them to disregard the mailed version of a letter they already accepted by e-mail.

the operator was a bit confused and thought i was saying that we sent the DS-230 by e-mail and kept saying that they sent us a checklist letter. Then he started listing off all of the things that were missing and the items that they had.

I said we only received a checklist letter for the DS-230 not for all of those things, which I was 100% sure my husband sent with the package.

Then I realized he was reading from the file, what they had already reviewed and what was still under review. He realized that too and then went back to the standard you have to wait 2 weeks (or whatever) for review of your file.

So even though they keep repeating the same standard messages, apparently the regular operator has access to look at your file and tell what exactly is still left to review!

So unfair.

If i call the avr system it says documents missing and when i spoke to the operator they mentioned they are currently reviewing the DS230 documents and to ignore the automated messaging system. It appears all their systems are not correctly integrated to talk to each other. I am not sure how long it takes for them to complete a DS230 review, and its been like a week plus i sent that.

i've looked at other people's timelines and it seems like it's around 6 business days if you don't get an RFE so you should be done soon!
