is it non-stop, or occasional snoring?

Its every night, and its for about 3/4 of the night. At some point, I usually go to sleep in the spare room.

How about ear plugs?

Those are too uncomfortable to sleep with.

Get the foam ones, they are soft and conform to your ear, and don't put them in too far, just enough to lessen the noise.

You might want to have him checked for sleep apnea. There are complications that can arise from it, going far beyond lack of sleep and snoring.

I have asked him to go see the doctor about it, because you can tell sometimes that he's having a hard time to breathe. But he just won't.

He had his nose broken 2x (not by me) and its really affected his ability to breathe through it. I suspect that may be part of the problem. He is now a dreaded mouth-breather.

Anyone have someone whose had surgery (nose or throat)?

I'll look into the spray, we haven't tried that one yet.

How many times by you?

That was just his right knee cap. But he'll never do that again, so that was only 1x.

The first time Chris punched himself in the face. The weather balloon string got caught around his hand, and the balloon caught a gust of wind and he punched himself in the nose.

Second time was at the weather office, a guy came in and punched him in the nose. I guess they were sleeping with the same girl (not me).

Oral Sex is the only tried and true method to get a guy to stop snoaring

That just puts him to sleep faster and snoring ensues earlier. Thanks for the suggestion Rob. I know you're just trying to help a brother get some action.

Maybe you should try going to sleep before him. My wife does this (partially due to my snoring and because I'm a "night owl") and she sleeps much more soundly. She's also a very, very light sleeper, so if that works for her, I have to imagine it'd work for others.

Well, I snoar quite loudly myself, and Mel either tries to get to sleep before me (not likely), but mostly, she just kicks me til I roll over and stop snoaring long enough for her to fall back asleep.

Ditto. Going to sleep at the same time just means she wakes up tired. She still thinks "we should" but she's wrong. We shouldn't.

You get used to them. I had issues at first, but now I'm used to them and they really help.

And apart from losing weight and surgery, different bedrooms is really the only answer.

I feel for ya Mrs Cat, i have the same situation here.

I end up going into a different room to sleep or kick him out on the couch. Im lucky if i get 5 hours a sleep a night, whilst he's well rested

He wont hear going to the doctor for possible sleep apnea, *shrugs* so what can ya do.

I am in the same situation - he really needs to go to have a sleep evaluation because I am pretty sure he has sleep apnea. Going to bed before him doesn't help - the snoring still wakes me up, especially when he roles over and starts to snore in my ear! I used to go into the spare room and catch a few hours of sleep there when we were first married but it bothered him that I was out of the room, so I used ear plugs for a while and that didn't help because I could still hear the snoring and I was 'aware' that my hearing was muted so my mind stayed more alert and I couldn't rest! What I have found helps is when he starts to snore, I just move my head down to the foot of the bed and sleep there - it is enough of a distance that the snoring isn't in my ears and I can eventually fall asleep. Of course, on bad nights I am lucky to be able to go back to bed after he leaves for work and catch up on missed sleep.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
