Hi Landa,

If you all ready have your medical, there is no need to go early, just arrive on the day.

And make sure you arrive early that day! Your interview letter might say 8 or 9am, but arrive by 7am! It's "first come first serve" so the earlier you arrive the better.

Exactly! We arrived at the consulate in Montreal at 6:45am and there was already a line. If you don't want to be there all day its definitely a good idea to show up before 7 and wait outside until they open the doors at 7:30.

What type of visa is your interview for? A lot of us have recently gone through the interview experience, so if you have any questions just ask!

The questions are fairly simple and routine. They basically just want to confirm the information you've provided on your forums is correct. Address, phone numbers, employment, things of that nature. I was asked about my trips to the US, and when I was planning on getting married, very simple questions. Most are asked about how you met, but we had included a statement in our petition and she stopped and read it instead of asking. Be prepared with additional relationship evidence but there is a good chance they won't even ask you about it.

They ask you to bring an xpressport envelope to the embassy and will mail you back your passport with the visa in it. So no need to hang around Montreal! Very few people are given the option of coming back and picking it up the next day.

I remember one of your postings some time ago concerning your brain injury. Personally, I think there are only three things they might ask about. One is to do with your medical and what your doctor has to say about your injury and it's treatment. Secondly, if you have ample financial support from your fiance. They might ask, however I don't believe it could be a cause of denial, about his health insurance, if say you have to have further surgeries or treatment. The main issue I believe is going to be proving that you're not going to be a "burden" to the US in terms of financial support. That's the same thing EVERYONE has to go through, so really I don't believe you have anything to worry about if your fiance meets the poverty guidelines. All the better if they have good medical insurance.

All the best at your interview, and please get back to us and let us know how it went! (F)
