we're having some friends and colleages write some letters for us confirming the legitimacy of our marriage. what exactly would you want to see in these letters, and what would these cover pages they want entail? thanks

My mother-in-law wrote one for my husband and I, and she used the format detailed here. Then she had it notarized. I'm still not sure if it NEEDED to be notarized, but it was, and that seemed to work for us.

I sent an email to our friends and family members. In the email I asked them to write a letter of support for us to get married. I didn't get letters from everyone, but I did get many back. Namely, his mom, 3 letters from my 4 parents, my brothers, his aunt, the pastor who will marry us, and three or four of my friends. I requested they include how they knew one of us and how/when they met the other one of us, whether or not the supported our mgetting married, any information they'd like to share about us, and what (if any) role they would play during our wedding (groomsman, bridesmaid, reader, etc.). All together we had 10-12 letters.
