So can a domestic partners file for adjustment of status?

I'm pretty sure you have to be married to file for adjustment of status, but is there any benefit of domestic partnership in CA.?

Nope, Must be Husband and Wife, and cannot be a "Marriage between two women or two men".

Immigration is a federal thing/ law, not state based, and federal law does not allow for domestic partnerships/ homosexual marriage.

Sadly no, domestic partners are not considered married as stated above. Stupid, I know, but that's how it rolls.
