Please forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong forum. I am trying my best to figure out how and where to post my questions. Please bear with me.

I am struggling to fill out the Affidavit of Support. I do not earn enough money to meet the financial requirements. Therefore, my best friend said that he would be a co-sponsor. :dancing:

What is the form the Co-Sponsor fills out? Is it the I-864A? Or is it another form? I looked at the I-864A and there are only check boxes for household members and other dependents. I've spoken to individuals who I believe are knowledgeable in this area, and they told me that anyone can be a sponsor . . . yet I cannot figure out which form this individual needs to fill out. :help:

I sincerely appreciate any help or guidance you can provide me in this regard.

Thanks.

You each fill out an I-864. You must fill out the I-864, regardless of whether your income qualifies you or not.

You filed this in the K-3 forum which has to do with the filing of an I-130 and then I-129F for a visa. Affidavit of support is not needed when you file these forms, it is needed later when interviewing for a K-Visa, the affidavit of support for a K-Visa interview is I-134. The C- Sponsor also provides and I-134 along with the petitioner's I-134.

Later when adjusting status the co sponsor would use I-864, NOT I-864A. I-864A is used by a member of sponsor's household so that the household member can ADD their income to that of the sponsor.

Where are you in this process??? :time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=58709

Please fill in the profile and timeline. Nobody can advise you properly on an affidavit of support for an "other n/a" immigration process.
