K-1 approved twice? What happened?

I received my NOA2 about two months ago. Then, I received a letter from the State Department NVC, saying that they sent my case to the Embassy about 3 weeks later.

Now, all of the sudden, I got another email from from USCIS. It says that they just approved my case and mailed me the notification letter. I thought that USCIS was done with it two months ago. What just happened?

02-21-2006 Mailed K-1 application to Nebraska.

02-23-2006 USPS online confirmation of delivery.

02-24-2006 NOA1 (received 03-02-2006).

02-28-2006 Touched - first time.

03-01-2006 Check cashed.

05-03-2006 NOA2 - 68 days from NOA1.

05-16-2006 NVC received application.

06-27-2006 NOA2 again?

08-08-2006 Interview at Kiev embassy.

08-09-2006 Received the K-1 visa.

10-07-2006 Arrived at JFK airport.

10-26-2006 Applied for Social Security card.

12-29-2006 Married!!!

01-03-2007 Received Social Security card.

01-22-2007 Mailed I-485, I 765, and I-131 forms.

01-26-2007 NOA for I-485, I-765, and I-131.

01-27-2007 Received Illinois state ID card and driver's permit.

02-15-2007 Biometrics appointment.

02-28-2007 Received driver's license.

03-08-2007 I-485 approved.

03-15-2007 Received Permanent Resident Card.

03-15-2007 Applied for Social Security Card with married last name.

Hmmm, sounds like you need to call NVC for verification. You are pre-March 06 so you are probably good to go. Call the NVC and find out what is going on.

Sept. 02,2009- Notice Date

Sept. 03,2009- Checks cashed

Sept. 17, 2009- Got approval letters

Sept. 30, 2009- NVC recieved and assigned case number

Oct. 02, 2009 - DS-3032 and AOS Bill sent

Oct. 06,2009 - Recieved DS-3032 and AOS bill (email)

Oct. 07,2009- AOS Bill Paid and sent DS-3032 (email)

Oct. 28,2009-Paid IV Bill online

Oct. 29,2009-check cashed & status change to "PAID", DS-3032 accepted

Nov. 02,2009-Sent DS-230 package

Nov. 04,2009- AVR status says I'm missing docs (DS-230)

Nov. 04,2009-NVC recieved DS-230 package

Nov. 09,2009-AVR status: "NVC recieved checklist response on 11-09-2009

Nov. 19,2009- CASE COMPLETED(10 days!!!)

Jan. 05,2010 - INTERVIEW

Jan. 20,2010 - US Entry!!!

Is the 2nd DATE the same as the first (I know you only just got it, but look at the DATE APPROVED)? Or is it more current?

Maybe the computer had a fit and spat out a copy and they mailed it?

If not I'd ignore it, but keep it, as NVC seem to have had your paperwork already and sent it to the Embassy (unless the Embassy sent it back to NVC in an IMBRA misunderstanding confusion type situation...) Check with the Embassy.

Applied for K1

Met online 2001 - just aquaintances

Sept 2002 - 1st US visit - everything goes perfectly.

Dec 20th - Forms recev'd at CSC

Dec 27th - NOA1 received by snail mail!

Dec 29th - 'Touched'

March 10 2006 - NOA2!

March 23 - recv'd at NVC

March 24 - petition sent to London

April 9th - Pkt 3 rec'd!

May 17th - Pkt 3 signed for at London Embassy

May 24th - Medical

May24th - Pkt 4

June 14th - Interview 10am - APPROVED 1pm!!

June 16th - Visas received in my hot little hands 1pm :)

July 19th - flying to US!

July 27th - Married!! :-)

Aug 7th - Applied for SSN in married name

Aug 9th - SSN received

There are two different dates on the notices. One is in May 2 and the new one says that it was approved on June 27.

I hope that the embassy didn't send it back for some clerical error that USCIS did or something, and now we are delayed two months.

Has your fiancee received anything from the consulate yet, specifically the visa application packet?

If not, have you or she contacted the consulate to find out if they received the approved petition from the NVC?
