I am new to the VJ board, And i will introduce myself in the relevant forum later (Work, ugh!)

I just wanted to ask if anyone here has or are applying for a replacement EAD? I have tried calling the mis-information line a few times, But i'm not getting through at all, I know i have to renew my EAD in 6 months anyway, And that time is coming up in days, So it's either applying for both, or one or the other?????

I lost my permit a couple of days ago, But there is a box you check on the I-785 form for replacement EAD, If anyone has done so, Do you have to pay the $250.00 fee? It does not give a category number to check this out, If i apply for a renewal, I will NOT have my present work permit to send, But i think i have a photocopy.

Thanks in advance

I don't know if this will help......

Our EAD card was incorrect. The "help line" told me we had to completely refile and include fees for the application and another biometrics. I made an "InfoPass" appointment and got an "interm" EAD on the spot and sent the incorrect one back with nothing but a new application form. That was two weeks ago. Our new card arrived yesterday.

If I was you, before I jumped through the "hoops" with the "help line" -- I would make an "InfoPass" appointment and see what they say. You should at least be able to get an interm card while you are waiting for the new one to be sent.

Thanks for your reply :D

I got in touch with my attorney, And she said that she may be able to get me a replacement, But maybe i will take your advice and go for the infopass appointment, Maybe that will be more efficient and a faster process

Thank you for your advice
