I-864 and no co-sponosr

Hey there!

My wife doesn't make enough money to be considered above the poverty line. If we file our application with her i-864 but without a co-sponsor will it affect our application or even deny it? I am sure we can find a co-sponsor in a while but we would like to send everything in before that since we don't know exactly how long it will take to find somebody.

DONT. It makes absolutely no sense if u are sure your wife doesnt make over the poverty line umless you want extra set back. they will just deny your application and you would have to go through the whole prcess again.

They will give you an RFE and if you can't get a sponsor to come up to the poverty line then your case will be denied. Do not apply until you can satisfy the requirement.

ive got somebody who made about 25,000 last year. some of it was with the military, some of it was from UNEMPLOYMENT income and then some of it from a retail job that he still has.

is he eligible?

hes still receiving unemployment and working part-time and is expecting to get 20,000 this year.
