I can't find receipt number in USCIS web site

Hi all,

I finally got my NOA today in the mail and I decided to check my status online. When I entered the receipt number, system couldn't find it. What should I do?

The NOA number is never listed on the case update system for the I-751. The receipt number is an internal use number only. You will have to wait until you receive your biometrics letter. You will notice it has a different number than your receipt number. That is the number you can use to check your status online and to register for email updates.

Don't worry. That happens sometimes. There an be delays in updating the system. We were able to track our K1 immediately after the check was cashed and I had the number. But my hubby's AOS, EAD, and AP, never showed up in the system until they were approved.

Check your NOA1 letter. On the bottom you can find these lines: "To view the status of your case, enter the application number found at the top of the ASC appointment notice".
